Abstract: Highly effective agents for the water and oil repellent finishing of fibrous, in particular textile materials contain at least two components which are aqueous dispersions. One of the dispersions contains a copolymer of a fluorine-containing (meth)acrylate, vinyl chloride and a fluorine-free (meth)acrylate, and also ethoxylated alkylphenol. The other dispersion contains either a copolymer of a fluorine-containing acrylate, vinylidene chloride and a fluorine-free (meth)acrylate and also ethoxylated fatty acids or an oxime-blocked isocyanate, a fluorine-containing oligo- or polyurethane and also an ethoxylated fatty amine (salt). The agents lead to a pleasantly soft handle on the finished textile material and in many cases reduce the bleeding of dyed textiles.
Abstract: The permanence of the flame-resistant finish of fibre materials, in particular those based on cellulose, is improved if a phosphono compound which contains an N-methylol group. is used together with an organic carboxylic acid as the finishing agent. If oxalic acid in particular is used as the carboxylic acid, the finished fibre material can be stored in a damp environment for a prolonged period of time without intermediate washing being necessary. The tendency of the finish to hydrolyse in a damp atmosphere is reduced by using the organic carboxylic acid instead of a mineral acid.

The preparation of those compounds and their use as herbicidal active ingredients are described.
Abstract: Stable, low-viscosity dispersions of polysiloxanes containing amino or amido groups can be obtained, even at comparatively high concentrations and/or pH values, by adding a product of the formulaR1--CH(X)--Y--O--R2(R1 is H, CH.sub.3 ; X=OH, NH.sub.2 ; R2=C.sub. -C.sub.4 -alkyl, unsubstituted or substituted by OH or OR3; R3=C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, unsubstituted or substituted by OH) to the dispersions. The dispersions are suitable for the treatment of fiber materials, especially textiles, to which a soft handle is thereby imparted.

Abstract: This invention relates to a process for encapsulation and particularly for the preparation of microcapsules having a capsule wall of a solid polymeric substance enclosing a water-immiscible material, which process comprises preparing a solution of a first reactive component required to form the capsule wall in the water-immiscible material, then dispersing the mixture in an aqueous medium containing a surfactant which is a salt of a partial ester of a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer, to form an oil-in-water emulsion, and subsequently adding a second reactive component required to form the capsule wall which is complementary to the first one and reacts with it under the mixing conditions, whereby a solid polymeric wall is formed about the dispersed water-immiscible material. The resulting stable aqueous suspension of microcapsules can either be used directly or after dilution with water, or the microcapsules can be separated from the aqueous phase.
