Abstract: Laser lines at 635 nm or longer (ideally 647 nm) are preferred for red, giving energy-efficient, bright, rapid-motion images with rich, full film-comparable colors. Green and blue lines are used too—and cyan retained for best color mixing, an extra light-power boost, and aid in speckle suppression. Speckle is suppressed through beam-path displacement—by deflecting the beam during projection, thereby avoiding both absorption and diffusion of the beam while preserving pseudocollimation (noncrossing rays). The latter in turn is important to infinite sharpness. Path displacement is achieved by scanning the beam on the liquid-crystal valves (LCLVs), which also provides several enhancements—in energy efficiency, brightness, contrast, beam uniformity (by suppressing both laser-mode ripple and artifacts), and convenient beam-turning to transfer the beam between apparatus tiers.

Abstract: Methods and compositions are provided to treat enteric disease. The methods and compositions use passive immunity to treat diseases of the gut, including diseases caused by Salmonella sp., E. Coli, Clostridium difficile, Clostridium perfringens A, Clostridium perfringens C, Clostridium perfringens D, canine distemper, feline distemper, Rotavirus, and Parvovirus. Specific antibodies are administered orally to a subject to improve intestinal health.

Abstract: A golf swing aid is provided which keeps the wrists in close proximity during a golf swing. The aid wraps around one or both of a golfer's wrists, and may be wrapped around the club. The aid is divided into distinct regions which inform the golfer of whether the swing will result in a square shot, a hook shot, or a slice.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a promoter, designated EPSP. The present invention is also directed to DNA molecules including the EPSP promoter, such as a DNA construct containing the promoter operably linked to one or more genes or antisense DNA. The invention is further directed to transformed plant tissue including the DNA molecule and to transformed plants and seeds thereof. The promoter is useful for driving gene or antisense expression for the purpose of imparting agronomically useful traits such as, but not limited to, increase in yield, disease resistance, insect resistance, herbicide tolerance, drought tolerance and salt tolerance in plants.

Abstract: A bed elevating apparatus is provided which includes a mechanism for elevating a longitudinal side of a bed while the other side remains in place and acts as a pivot. The act of alternating the side of the bed that is raised shifts the pressure between the person and the bed and thus helps to reduce or prevent bedsores. The bed elevating apparatus can be used with preexisting hospital or nursing home beds. The apparatus is placed between the bed frame and the lower legs portion of the bed such that the legs of the bed remain on the floor and only the bed frame is longitudinally raised.

Abstract: An apparatus for remote identification of combustion performance of a vehicle is provided. The apparatus comprises a vehicle with a throttle device for control of fuel into a multiple cylinder engine of the vehicle. A sensor is provided in operative communication with the vehicle for the purpose of analyzing a vehicle combustion parameter, wherein the sensor can sense combustion of at least one cylinder of the engine. A remote communication device is provided in operative communication with the combustion sensor for communicating the combustion parameter. A remote monitoring network is provided for receiving the combustion parameter from the remote communication device over a network to enable remote monitoring of vehicle performance.

Abstract: A slack cable storage system is provided which stores slack cable under a fiber access terminal or pedestal and provides support for the terminal or pedestal. The slack cable is thus stored under the terminal and is available for splicing or restoration of service. The cable entry to the terminal or pedestal is sealed to keep humid air in the storage system out of the terminal.
