Abstract: The invention relates to a halogen incandescent lamp for motor vehicles with an elongate bulb which is closed at one end and has a vacuumtight pinch seal at the other end, with at least one incandescent element arranged in the bulb, with a lamp cap connected to the pinch seal, and with current supply leads which are passed through the pinch seal to the incandescent element, with an annular optical filter which is provided at the closed end of the bulb. It is possible with such a halogen incandescent lamp in a simple manner both to change the subjective impression of the generated light and to improve the objective properties through emphasizing of a desired region of the spectrum.
Abstract: The lamp of the invention has three lead rods (6, 7, 8) and two filament structure bodies (13). Each of the two filament structure bodies has three filaments (13a, 13b, 13c). All the filaments (13a, 13b, 13c) are arranged around the outside of the three lead rods (6, 7, 8). Since light from each of the filaments (13a, 13b, 13c) reaches outside of the lamp (1) without the light travel being hindered by the three rods (6, 7, 8), the light from the filaments (13a, 13b, 13c) is uniformly radiated.
Abstract: A road-marking system comprising at least a first (1) and a second road-marking unit (2) each having an emission surface (10; 20), the first unit comprising a first light source (21, 21′ . . . ) and the second unit comprising a second light source (22, 22′ . . . ). Each unit has a shape adapted to a saw-cut recess (9) accommodating the unit.

Abstract: The invention relates to a liquid-crystal display device comprising a display cell and a plurality of retardation foils of polymerized or vitrified liquid-crystal material, whose liquid-crystal molecules have a tilt angle with respect to a plane parallel to the substrates, which retardation foils have substantially complementary indicatrices so that each one of the retardation foils brings about the compensation of approximately half the display cell in the driven state.

Abstract: The invention relates to an electrical apparatus having an actuator including at least two permanent magnets (1, 1a) and at least one electrical coil (2) which is movably supported by means of a swing arm (3), which coil is arranged to be traversed by magnetic fields of the permanent magnets (1, 1a), the actuator having a cage (4), which encloses the coil (2) and the permanent magnets (1, 1a), as a closed magnetic return path.
Abstract: The electric lamp (1) has a lamp vessel (2), wherein an electric element (3) is accommodated. Said element is connected to current conductors (4), molybdenum end portions (5) of which extend outside the lamp vessel and have a skin of titanium nitride or chromium carbide as a protection against oxidation.

Abstract: A marking (3 to 5) is provided in a surface (8) of an element (1) which comprises a substrate (6) of aluminum or an alloy thereof and an anodized outer layer (7) in that a region (10) of the surface (8) is irradiated with a laser beam such that at least one visual property of the surface (8) in said region (10) is changed and a visual marking (3 to 5) is obtained which is observable to the human eye. The laser beam penetrates the anodized outer layer (7) at least to a major degree and induces the change in the at least one visual property substantially locally only in a zone (9) where the anodized outer layer (7) adjoins the substrate (6).
Abstract: The valve comprises a flexible resilient valve member which is positioned in a flexible fluid line in a fluid-tight relationship therewith. An actuating element, such as a ring-shaped member, surrounds the valve member, and an actuating coil is positioned adjacent the ring member. An electrical control signal energizes the coil in operation, producing a magnetic field which moves the actuating element to deform the valve member, opening the valve. Termination of the electrical signal permits the valve member to return to its normal closed position arrangement. A feedback control system is provided for the valve which includes providing pre-established limits on time and volume of fluid delivery. Determinations are successively made as to whether such limitations have been met, and the control valve is closed when one such limitation has been met.
Abstract: The invention relates to a waterproof housing (1) of an apparatus, for example an electrically rechargeable shaving device, which housing (1) is provided with at least one opening (3a,3b) in a wall (1a), which opening is sealed off by means of a foil (4) permitting the equalization of a pressure difference between the inside of the housing and the outer atmosphere.
In order to provide means for the equalization of a pressure difference suitable for all kinds of apparatuses, which means are not susceptible of contamination and at the same time are capable of equalizing pressure differences, the foil (4) is elastically deformable and provided with at least one incision (8,9) of which the cutting edges can yield owing to a pressure difference across said foil.
Abstract: A telephone set starts ringing when receiving in incoming call. The user of the telephone set is able to give an on-hold user command given after start of said signaling. In response to the on-hold command the incoming call is placed automatically on-hold.
