Abstract: A unit dose spoon having a bowl portion, a recessed handle portion communicating with the bowl portion. An upwardly extending pedestal is mounted in the recessed handle portion and is provided with an upwardly extending cutting blade on the top surface thereof A container is integrally hinged to the free end of the handle portion and contains a unit dose of fluid such as a medicine, which is sealed in the container by a rupturable plastic cover. When the container is folded forwardly toward the handle portion and pushed downwardly toward the pedestal, the blade thereon punctures the plastic cover to allow the fluid to flow from the container into the recessed handle portion and into the bowl portion. The unit dose spoon is formed of molded plastic and is disposable.

Abstract: A kit for building objects from block-like construction pieces comprising a plurality of construction pieces, each having a core made of resilient flexible foam material and having a plurality of planar faces, an outer cover snugly fitting over and completely covering the outer peripheral surface of the foam core made of a looped fabric and a plurality of double-sided hooked surface tabs for lockingly engaging with the loop fabric so that the construction pieces may be releasably assembled to one another and reinforcing strips adapted to be removably connected to tabs for bridging adjacent blocks.

Abstract: A patch device for repairing holes in drywall or the like having at least one pair of straight-sided edges, comprising, a body portion made of a flexible material having at least one pair of generally parallel spaced-straight sides and a series of teeth-like projections extending from opposing sides of the body portion engagable in the pair of edges of the opening in the drywall. The body portion is hinged to permit flexing the body portion to facilitate installation of the patch device in the opening in the drywall.

Abstract: Apparatus for photodynamic irradiation comprising a housing (10), a lamp (16) mounted in the housing and a reflector (18) surrounding the lamp. A filter unit (40) is mounted in the beam path of the lamp and the reflector, and a light outlet (26) in the housing following the filter unit. A dosage device accurately meters the radiant energy delivered by the apparatus to a patient.

Abstract: A surveillance system that includes a switcher, a selector and processor for generating a predetermined monitor display based on an operator's inputs. The processor determines a plurality of camera views that have a logical relationship to the view selected by the operator. The monitor displays the selected view and the related views in a format determined either by the operator or the processor. This system allows the operator to easily track a moving target. In addition, a touch screen monitor further facilitates the operator's ability to track a target.

Abstract: A surveillance system which can store and replay information which is not generated contemporaneously. In some point-of-sale systems, the behavioral events occur before the transaction data is generated. The present system asynchronously records the video signals corresponding to the behavioral events and the transaction data. Upon playback, the transaction data is matched up with the behavioral event being replayed from the video tape.

Abstract: A structured cabling system with at least one pair of 2n-pole distribution sockets, with at least one pair of 2n-pole outlets, and with installed n-wire cable connections, each of which connects n poles of a distribution socket to n poles of the associated outlet. The system comprises means connecting the n unoccupied poles of one distribution socket (10.1) to the unoccupied poles of the second distribution socket (10.2) for at least one pair of distribution sockets (10.1, 10.2). The system further includes means connecting the n unoccupied poles of one outlet (14.1) to the unoccupied poles of the second outlet (14.2) for at least the associated pair of outlets; and in that, in one distribution socket (10.2) and in one outlet (14.2) of each pair, each of the n unoccupied poles can be connected to one of the n occupied poles by means of a short-circuiting bridge plug (16).

Abstract: A valve assembly positionable between open and closed positions in response to pressure differentials only comprising a valve chamber having an inlet and an outlet defined by a circumferentially extending tapered wall defining a valve seat adjacent the inlet and an outlet wall with at least one port adjacent this outlet. The assembly further comprises a valve element having a truncated frusto conical body portion and an outer peripheral tapered surface complementing the taper of the valve seat and a pad of smaller diameter than the largest diameter of the body portion depending from a large end of the body portion engageable with the outlet wall and displaced from the outlet port to permit flow from the inlet through the outlet when the valve is in the open position.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a radial roller bearing assemblies. More specifically, the invention relates to radial roller bearing assemblies including an outer ring having radially inwardly directed stop flanges, a cage comprising a pair of side rings and webs connecting the side rings, circumferentially spaced to define pockets for rolling elements, each of the side rings having radially projecting segments located at diametrically opposed locations wherein the distance (Dc) between the highest point on the segmental projection of one of the cage side rings and the diametrically opposite point of the same cage side ring is in a predetermined relation to the diameter (Dk) of the bore of the stop flange so that when the axial centers of the cage and ring are coincident, the segmental projections confront the inner radial faces of the stop flanges.

When the awning, etc., is being extended, a certain number of pulses is counted per rotation of the electric motor, and after a certain predetermined count value is reached, which indicates that the awning, etc., has arrived at end position, the electric motor is turned off. Because the counting device is reset in the starting position, the electric motor automatically compensates for any change which may have occurred in the length of the fabric of the awning, etc., the next time an actuation is carried out.

Abstract: A bearing arrangement is equipped with a radial bearing and with a roller bearing which acts purely in the axial direction. Rollers of axial bearing have a needle-like, barrel-like design. Bearing rings are provided with the corresponding profiles. When axial play develops in the bearing arrangement, rollers shift radially under the effect of gravity in one case and under the effect of centrifugal force in the other with the effect of eliminating the axial play.

Abstract: A wide-dispersion indirect lamp assembly with an elongated lamp housing (14), symmetric to a central, vertical plane (26), and which prevents at least most of the light from escaping downward. The assembly includes two fluorescent tubes (28); and a reflector (30) above each of the tubes. Each reflector, seen in vertical cross section, slants upward and away from a point (32) on the upper half of the circumference of the fluorescent tube. The point (32) is preferably shifted away from the apex line (34) of the circumference of the fluorescent tube toward the central plane (26) of the lamp housing (14).

Abstract: Axial roller bearing assembly for absorbing the axial forces of a steering knuckle pivotally supported on a steering knuckle bolt at the end of an axle of a vehicle comprising first and second bearing disks having spaced confronting raceways for a plurality of rolling elements. One of the disks has a sleeve-like edge, which encloses the rolling elements and the lateral surface of the second disk with play and prevents the rolling elements from escaping radially outwardly. A sealing ring made of elastic-type material is disposed between the sleeve-like edge and the lateral surface. A stop ring (27), separate from the disks (13, 16), is provided on the inner radial envelope circle of the rolling elements (15) to prevent the rolling elements (15) from escaping radially inwardly.

Abstract: A novel composition, a kit for providing that composition, and method of treatment is disclosed. The composition comprises aqueous hydroxyacid, hydroxy ether, surfactant, and alkali hydroxide. In a preferred aspect, the composition comprises aqueous hydroxyacetic acid, dipropylene glycol-methyl ether, a surfactant blend of 9M tridecyl alcohol and poly`oxy-1,2-ethanediyl`, alpha-`nonylphenyl`-omega-hydroxy-surfactant, and aqueous sodium hydroxide.
