  • Patent number: 4677028
Abstract: The invention provides for a thixotropic coating composition comprising (1) a binder and (2) a sag control agent which is the reaction product of (a) an isocyanurate-trimer from a diisocyanate containing 3 to 20 carbon atoms and (b) an amine containing at least one primary amino group, the coating composition containing 0.1 to 30 percent by weight of the sag control agent. The invention also relates to a process for coating a substrate using said coating composition and to the coated substrate thus obtained.

  • Patent number: 4418022
Abstract: Novel phosphoramidates of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R, R' and R" represent certain specified substituent groups, are useful as stabilizing agents for organic materials, such as natural and synthetic rubbers and lubricating oils. The combined use of these compounds with certain sulfur-containing compounds shows a surprising synergistic effect.

  • Patent number: 4347342
Abstract: This disclosure relates to an improved process for initiating radical reactions employing a class of hydroximic acid derivatives as initiators. Radical reactions initiated by such hydroximic acid derivatives include copolymerization of unsaturated polyester resins and cross-linking of polyethylene. The initiators of the present disclosure have a higher degradation temperature than found with typical peroxides.

  • Patent number: 4283314
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a resin composition having improved internal and external lubricating properties. The resin compositions comprises polyvinyl chloride or a copolymer thereof and one or more branched-chain monocarboxylic acids and/or derivatives thereof. Such derivatives are selected from the group consisting of(a) esters of phenols or aromatic, aliphatic or cycloaliphatic alcohols having at least 1 to 10 primary or secondary hydroxyl groups;(b) amides of ammonia or aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic amines having at least 1 to 15 primary or secondary amino groups;(c) salts of alkali metals or alkaline earth metals, amphoteric metals, heavy metals, of ammonium or of a compound containing a tertiary amino group. The branched-chain monocarboxylic acids are telomeric acids obtained by the free radical addition of 1 mole of acetic anhydride to at least three moles of hexene and/or higher olefins containing up to 30 or more carbon atoms (C.sub.
