  • Patent number: 4130611
Abstract: An attemperator in the form of a steam desuperheater is disclosed herein and comprises a water tube adapted to be connected to a source of water under high pressure and a spray tube communicating with the water tube through a flow-control device for controlling the flow of water from the water tube to the spray tube. The spray tube is adapted to be located in a steam line for injecting cooling water into the steam when its temperature exceeds a predetermined temperature and accordingly is formed with one or more nozzles for injecting a spray of water travelling along an expanding swirling path into the steam, the water being atomized into small droplets which easily evaporate in the steam. Preferably, a plurality of nozzles are provided arranged in rows extending axially of the spray tube and the rows are circumferentially spaced apart. Also, the nozzles preferably communicate with the inside of the spray tube through a series of small ports.

  • Patent number: 4122510
Abstract: A flashlight in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the invention includes a housing enclosing an insulating battery retaining member formed with spring arms for retaining a pair of batteries in spaced-apart relationship. Further included is a light bulb having a pair of leads extending therefrom and carried at one end of the housing with the leads each connected to a battery. Adjacent the opposite end of the housing a conductive switch member is frictionally retained on the positive post of one battery and extends between the battery retaining member and a flexible wall of the housing. The other end of the switch member is located adjacent a cutout portion of the battery retaining member which exposes a conductive surface of the other of the batteries so that when the flexible wall of the housing is pressed the other end of the switch wire contacts the other of the batteries completing a circuit between the batteries and the light bulb.

  • Patent number: 4100776
Abstract: Combination lock for the control of the retraction of a lock latch comprising a multiplicity of notched members each displaceable as a function of a numeral or number in the combination, in order that, upon display of the right combination, the notches are aligned with a device for retracting the latch, characterized in that said device comprises means such that, by acting on a same member for instance a button, in a first phase the rake can be moved towards engagement with the notches then aligned, and in a second phase the driving of the latch in a retraction movement can be ensured.

  • Patent number: 4099181
Abstract: Flat radar antenna for radar apparatus comprising a plurality of aligned radiating elements disposed in parallel rows, in which the quantity of energy flowing between each one of said elements and the radar apparatus can be adjusted, characterized in that said radiating elements are waveguides with coplanar radiating faces, said waveguides being grouped according to four quadrants, each one of said quadrants being connected with the radar apparatus by means of a feed device adapted to take on one of two conditios, one in which it feeds all the waveguides in the quadrant and the other in which it feeds only the rows nearest to the center of the antenna excluding the other waveguides in the quadrant, means being provided for the four feed devices to take on at the same time the same condition, so that the radar antenna emits a radar beam which is symmetrical relatively to the center of the antenna, and having a different configuration according to the condition of the feed devices.
