  • Patent number: 7736582
Abstract: A method of consolidating particulate materials into articles having combinations of properties not available by conventional processes by liquid phase sintering. These particulate materials are comprised of core particles individually coated with layers of a metal compound having a relatively higher fracture toughness than the core, such as WC or TaC. These coated particles include an outer layer comprised a metal, such as Co or Ni. The particles with these coatings are pressed to form an article and the article densified at pressures and temperatures where full density is achieved without the degradation of the material forming the core particle.

  • Patent number: 7514071
Abstract: The present patent application relates to a single-use cosmetic article containing a water-insoluble substrate impregnated with an aqueous cosmetic composition, said substrate being permeable and containing at least a first group of fibers and at least a second group of fibers whose hydrophilicity is different from that of the fibers of the first group. The first and second groups of fibers are arranged such that a first face of the substrate has a hydrophilicity substantially greater than the hydrophilicity of a second face of the substrate, opposite the first face.

  • Patent number: 7177858
Abstract: An apparatus and method for interfacing with a metrics database is provided for getting metrics data and grouping metrics data in response to a query. The metrics database interface gets metrics data by retrieving a set of metrics data from the metrics database in response to a query and determining a set of unique tags. The metrics database interface also groups a set of metrics data in response to a query so that the group can be referenced in a subsequent query.

  • Patent number: 5275866
Abstract: A process for thermoforming a sheet of poly(methyl methacrylate) which has a reduced viscosity of at least 1.5, protected on at least one of its faces, by a film, in intimate contact with it. The film is an ethylene polymer which has undergone a corona discharge treatment. The ethylene polymer film is coated with a layer of acrylic adhesive after the ethylene polymer film has undergone the corona treatment.

  • Patent number: 4267015
Abstract: A process for cooling a hot concentrated product coming from an evaporator comprising evaporation means and a condenser, in relation with a vacuum source, which consists in providing expansion by stages at decreasing pressures during which the hot concentrated product is cooled by stages, a process which can be used in the case where the product before concentration is available at low temperature. It is characterized in that with each expansion step there is associated a condenser where the vapor released at each corresponding expansion step is condensed, at least one of said condensers having passing therethrough a low temperature product, the product thus reheated being then fed to said evaporator for concentration.
