  • Patent number: 8346791
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for generating or using augmentation queries. In one aspect, augmentation queries are identified from user interactions or are machine generated. The augmentation queries can be stored in an augmentation query data store. When a user submits a search query to a search engine, the terms of the query, and optionally additional information, such as the geographic location from which the query is received or the language of the query, can be used to identify stored augmentation queries and select one or more similar augmentation queries. The selected augmentation queries, in turn, can be used by the search engine perform an augmented search operation.

  • Patent number: 8336976
Abstract: In a keeping device for a refrigerator, a moving shelf is installed to adjust the space between door baskets according to the height of food items received in the door baskets. When the moving shelf is folded, a long food item can be stably received, and when the folded moving shelf is unfolded, the receiving space can be extended to receive more food items. Also, because moving support portions supporting the moving shelf are provided at both sides, collision noise can be reduced when the moving shelf is unfolded, and because a restraining unit is provided between the moving shelf and the door, the folded state of the moving shelf can be stably maintained. In addition, because the keeping device is hung and fixed such that it is tightly attached to the door, the keeping space can be extended.

  • Patent number: 8337278
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing one or more measurements of a substrate at one or more radii along the substrate are described. Thickness measurements taken at various radii along the substrate can be averaged together to obtain an average value that reflects an overall substrate thickness. A more accurate measurement of the overall substrate thickness can be obtained by performing multiple measurements and averaging the measurements together. Using the average value, polishing can be adjusted to ensure that the substrate achieves a desired planarized thickness profile.

  • Patent number: 8336444
Abstract: A pressure-receiving face plate 29 is mounted on one end face of a piston 12, and a support member 26 is raised on the end face of the piston 12. Disposed on the support member 26 with an allowance are, from the pressure-receiving faceplate 29 respectively, a disk spring 27, a plate 25, and a plunger 28. A flange 26a prevents these members from slipping off the support member 26. When the piston 12 approaches a stroke end, the plunger 28 is inserted in an oil passage 20b and applies a cushioning effect to the piston 12. In addition, a gap between the pressure-receiving faceplate 29 and the plate 25 brought into contact with a cylinder bottom 17 becomes narrow, and produces a squeeze effect such that oil escapes from the narrow gap. This makes it possible to provide a hydraulic cylinder that produces a sufficient impact force at the stroke end of the piston and also reduces noise emitted by the impact force, without increasing a length of the hydraulic cylinder.

Abstract: A solid state light sheet and method of fabricating the sheet are disclosed. In one embodiment, bare LED chips have top and bottom electrodes, where the bottom electrode is a large reflective electrode. The bottom electrodes of an array of LEDs (e.g., 500 LEDs) are bonded to an array of electrodes formed on a flexible bottom substrate. Conductive traces are formed on the bottom substrate connected to the electrodes. A transparent top substrate is then formed over the bottom substrate. Various ways to connect the LEDs in series are described along with many embodiments. In one method, the top substrate contains a conductor pattern that connects to LED electrodes and conductors on the bottom substrate.

  • Patent number: 8339038
Abstract: To provide a bright and highly reliable light-emitting device. An anode (102), an EL layer (103), a cathode (104), and an auxiliary electrode (105) are formed sequentially in lamination on a reflecting electrode (101). Further, the anode (102), the cathode (104), and the auxiliary electrode (105) are either transparent or semi-transparent with respect to visible radiation. In such a structure, lights generated in the EL layer (103) are almost all irradiated to the side of the cathode (104), whereby an effect light emitting area of a pixel is drastically enhanced.

  • Patent number: 8339577
Abstract: An illumination system of a microlithographic projection exposure apparatus has a pupil surface and an essentially flat arrangement of desirably individually drivable beam deviating elements for variable illumination of the pupil surface. Each beam deviating element allows deviation of a projection light beam incident on it to be achieved as a function of a control signal applied to the beam deviating element. A measurement illumination instrument directs a measurement light beam, independent of the projection light beams, onto a beam deviating element. A detector instrument records the measurement light beam after deviation by the beam deviating element. An evaluation unit determines the deviation of the projection light beam from measurement signals provided by the detector instrument.
