  • Patent number: 6134082
Abstract: A recording disk device comprises a sheet-like magnetic disk medium having at least one recording surface, a jacket body enclosing the magnetic disk medium and having first and second inner surfaces faced to both surfaces of the magnetic recording medium, and upper and lower liners attached to the first and the second inner surfaces of the jacket body to remove fine dust adhered to the magnetic recording medium. The recording disk device further comprises upper and lower subsidiary liners each of which is attached to at least a part of each of the upper and the lower liners so that the magnetic disk medium rotated within the jacket body is interposed between the upper and the lower subsidiary liners with both surfaces of the magnetic disk medium kept in contact with the upper and the lower subsidiary liners. The jacket body has upper and lower shells parallel to each other with the upper and the lower liners attached thereto, respectively.

  • Patent number: 6110715
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing erythritol comprising cultivating microorganisms, which produce erythritol, belonging to Trichosporonoides megachiliensis in a culture medium having a high saccharide concentration and then recovering the erythritol accumulated in the culture medium. According to the present invention, cultivation period for producing erythritol can be shortened remarkably, and saccharide-based erythritol yield is excellent. Moreover, a large amount of erythritol can be produced efficiently, without much cost, since the same effect can be confirmed in case of using a culture medium at high saccharide concentration.

  • Patent number: 5767039
Abstract: A process for manufacturing methanol is herein disclosed which comprises the step of reacting hydrogen with carbon monoxide and/or carbon dioxide in the presence of a synthetic catalyst obtainable by mixing, in a slurry state, (a) a beforehand prepared precipitation slurry of copper and zinc, with (b) an alumina precursor separately prepared from a water-soluble aluminum salt and a basic precipitant, to obtain a composition containing copper, zinc and aluminum, and washing, drying and then calcining the composition. A process for manufacturing the above-mentioned catalyst is also disclosed. According to the present invention, methanol can extremely efficiently be manufactured, and the catalyst having a high activity and an excellent heat resistance can also be manufactured.
