Abstract: Disclosed are a mobile communication terminal provided with a hands-free function and a controlling method thereof comprising the steps of: setting a hands-free function of a mobile communication terminal; certifying whether an originating call command or a calling request message are received; searching information of a calling party inputted by a user's voice or an arbitrary originating party's information from a mounted telephone directory; and guiding the searched calling party's information by voice and then connecting a calling. According to this, the user can originate or receive a calling by using a voice recognition function and the hands-free function of the terminal without his hands' using even while driving.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an upright vacuum cleaner. An upright vacuum cleaner according to the present invention includes a main body for housing a suction power generating device for sucking air and a filtering device for filtering out foreign substances contained in the sucked air. A suction nozzle is pivotably connected to a lower portion of the main body for sucking the air containing the foreign substances and then guiding the sucked air into the main body. A handle is installed at the top of the main body and is designed to be gripped by a user in use. The potentiometer, or some other device for controlling the electric current applied to the suction power generating device, is installed at one side surface of the handle. The potentiometer allows the user to control a suction power level and on/off operations of the vacuum cleaner by means of a sliding manipulation. Further, the potentiometer is preferably installed at a front surface of the handle.

Abstract: Packet call processing involving packet-based data transfers in a mobile communications system can handle a packet call if the mobile station has the ability to accommodate the packet call even when packet call collision occurs. Upon detecting a packet call collision between a first received packet call and a second received packet call, the mobile station determines whether a Network Service Access Point Identifier (NSAPI) is available and can be allocated to handle the second received packet call. Thus, an increased number of packet calls that can be processed simultaneously by the network and/or the mobile station so that Internet-based applications, as well as other high-speed data applications can be handled more effectively and efficiently. Such packet call collision detection and NSAPI allocation techniques are applicable to various wireless and/or mobile communications environments, such as GMS, GPRS, UTMS, etc. involving data packet transmissions whereby packet call collisions may occur.

Abstract: A monitor is disclosed, in which R/G/B signals provided from a video source are compensated to adapt to the color reproduction of the monitor, thereby obtaining the best picture quality. The monitor includes a video source for outputting one video signal, a color compensator for detecting characteristics of the video signal output from the video source and for comparing the detected characteristics with display characteristics of the monitor to compensate the color of the video signal, a video processor for processing the video signal output from the color compensator, and a display for displaying the video signal output from the video processor.

Abstract: Disclosed is a integrated wireless local loop (WLL) and wireless local area network (WLAN) transceiver apparatus which connects a wireless local loop (WLL) base station and a plurality of wireless local area network (WLAN) terminals, including a WLL transceiver in communication with a WLL base station, a WLAN transceiver in communication with a plurality of WLAN terminals, and a specialized processing device which translates communications between WLL signaling protocol and WLAN signaling protocol. The apparatus allows a plurality of wireless terminals to simultaneously access the Internet without using a dedicated line or a cable line.

Abstract: A delay-locked loop (DLL) architecture is provided that includes a voltage controlled delay line, a sample-and-hold circuit and an amplifier circuit. The voltage controlled delay line may have a plurality of buffer stages to provide a first clock signal and a second clock signal. The sample-and-hold circuit may receive signals corresponding to the first clock signal and the second clock signal. The sample-and-hold circuit may provide two sampled signals based on the received signals. Additionally, the amplifier circuit may be coupled to the sample-and-hold circuit and the voltage controlled delay line. The amplifier circuit may provide a control voltage to the buffer stages of the voltage controlled delay line based on the sampled signals received from the sample-and-hold circuit.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a call control method between a packet network and Public Switched Telephone Networks (PSTNs) in the next generation network, which enables a terminating media gateway controller to conduct the virtual Continuity (COT) check in processing ISDN User Part (ISUP) calls for the inter-operation of the packet network and the PSTNs. In particular, according to the present invention, for the inter-operation of a packet network and PSTNs, the terminating media gateway controller seizes the trunk at the time when it receives an IAM from an originating media gateway controller and transits the IAM to a terminating PSTN. At this time, the Continuity Check Indicator (CCI) code of Nature of Connection Indicators (NCI) parameter within the IAM is set as ‘Continuity Check Performed on a Previous Circuit.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for driving a plasma display panel wherein an initializing discharge can be weakened to lower a dark room brightness and an initialization time can be shortened to permit a single scanning. In the apparatus, a sensing device senses an electrical signal with an initialization waveform applied from a voltage source to a display panel. A controlling device controls said electrical signal with an initialization waveform applied from the voltage source to the display panel by the sensed electrical signal.

Abstract: A communications terminal operates in multiple modes including a wired phone mode, an Internet phone mode, and a combined mode. The terminal includes a wired phone unit and an IP phone unit which separately processes calls to/from PSTN- and Internet-communications networks. The terminal also includes a processor which processes a call through a voice path which connects the wired phone unit and the IP phone unit in a third mode of operation which is referred to as an external connection mode. By processing a call along this path, the cost of performing long-distance and/or international calling may be substantially reduced and transmission efficiency may simultaneously be improved.

Abstract: A dual phone, and method of telecommunicating by using the same, have an ISDN phone and IP phone. The dual phone recognizes one of ISDN mode, IP mode, and external connection mode from a user input, and connects or releases a voice path between an ISDN phone and the IP phone based on the recognized mode, thereby enabling calling between an external ISDN phone and an IP phone.

Although the firmware of the main block is updated or damaged, the system can perform a desired operation (e.g., repair or recovery), without physically replacing the main or damaged block.

Abstract: A method and a system for inter-working an ANSI type radio access network (RAN) in an Internet Protocol (IP) based core network (CN) is disclosed. The method and a system provide for matching primary network components, such as the mobile switching center (MSC) and the base station controller (BSC), so as to inter-work an ANSI Type RAN in the IP based CN, while causing minimum modifications in the currently operated ANSI type RAN and establishing the IP based CN for accommodating the IP based ANSI type RAN. A unified communication network is thus provided by matching the RAN and the CN based upon the IP using a method and a system for signal connection and traffic transfer connection required for the network matching. As a result, a CN may be established, having the transfer path between a RAN and the CN based upon common technology such as IP.

Abstract: A plasma display panel is disclosed, which prevents luminance from being reduced, prevents error discharge from occurring due to crosstalk, and improves exhaust ability. Auxiliary barriers or projections are formed in a boundary portion between respective cells in a stripe type barrier structure. Alternatively, a predetermined groove is formed in a predetermined position of a dielectric layer in a lattice shaped barrier structure. In addition to these barriers, second barriers are formed at a greater width or at constant intervals. Thus, exhaust ability can be improved, and error discharge due to crosstalk can be prevented from occurring. Also, luminance in corner portions of the cell can be improved, and contrast can be improved even if a black matrix is not formed.
