Abstract: A method of using a variety of sonic transmissions is utilized to determined fluid level in a well. It is known that wells replenish fluid at different rates even in the same formation or well field. The fluid levers, which may be determined include water and petroleum. The sonic signals may be transmitted through the annulus in a well where the medium is a gas such as methane. The sonic signals may be also be transmitted through the casing or tubing of the well, which is typically steel pipe. Signals are generated, reflected, received, and converted into data. The data is then utilized to determine an initial liquid level P2, a no liquid pumpable state P0, and to activate the pump to pump the liquid, and inactivate the pump at a liquid level P1 above the no liquid pumpable state P0. [Maximum production at minimum pumping cost is achieved for a given well.

Abstract: A device for guiding and inserting dowel pins into tooling plates while also indicating the height to which it has been inserted; which comprises a means to transfer an external force to the dowel pin, a means to guide and hold the dowel pin perpendicular to the plate into which the dowel pin is to be inserted, and a means to indicate the position or height to which the dowel pin has been inserted.
Abstract: This invention relates to the stepwise layer-by-layer formation of a three-dimensional object through application of the principles of stereolithography and to the automatic detection of surface features of each layer of a three-dimensional object to manufacture parts more reliably, more accurately and more quickly. Automatic detection of trapped volume regions and size of solidified cross-sectional regions are disclosed. Automatic selection of recoating styles is made based on (1) the detected regions,(2) empirically or otherwise determined optimum recoating styles for different types of regions, and (3) a look-up table, other correlation system, or processor for associating recoating style information with laminae containing particular identified regions.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for use in building three-dimensional objects on substantially a cross-sectional basis including methods and apparatus for forming successive layers using counter-rotating rollers, ink jet recoaters, spinning members which sling material, applicator bars that dispense material via a meniscus and/or independently dispensed streams, and also including methods and apparatus to determine a preferred region over which to form a layer and to check for building errors.

Abstract: A rapid prototyping and manufacturing (e.g. stereolithography) method and apparatus for making high resolution objects utilizing low resolution materials which are limited by their inability to reliably form coatings of a desired thickness. The formation of coatings of such materials is limited to a Minimum Recoating Depth (MRD), when formed over entirely solidified laminae, which is thicker than the desired layer thickness or object resolution. Data manipulation techniques result in layers of material (and laminae) of the object being categorized as non-consecutive primary layers (laminae) and secondary layers (laminae) positioned intermediate to the primary layers (laminae).

Abstract: In a method for producing a three-dimensional object (6) wherein the object is produced by successive solidification of individual layers (6a, 6b, 6c, 6d, 64) of a liquid or powderous material (3) by action of electromagnetic radiation (8, 10) and a supporting structure (20, 21) for supporting the object (6) is co-solidified together with the object (6), the supporting structure (20, 21) is decomposed in a three-dimensional fashion into an inner core region (22) an an outer envelope region (23) and the irradiation is varied for producing different characteristics of both regions.
Abstract: Improved apparatus and methods for forming a layer of material over a surface of a previously-formed cross-section of a three-dimensional object in anticipation of forming a next cross-section of the object out of the layer. A volume of material, including at least some excess material, is placed over the surface, and the excess material is swept off by placing the excess material in the predetermined path of a sweeping member, the path being substantially in a plane spaced from a working surface of material. The member may be directed to sweep the excess material away through a successive number of sweeps, which may vary for each cross-section, at least a velocity which may vary for each sweep. Additionally, the clearance between the member and the surface of the previous cross-section may vary for each sweep. A "winged" member is also provided, comprising two legs extending from a base, and a "Trident" embodiment is also provided, comprising three legs extending from a base.

Abstract: Hair upon the scalp or eyelashes are treated with hair coloring or mascara compositions in hair or eyelash coloring methods. The hair is typically colored with a mascara brush to achieve streaking and a non-homogenous coloring of the hair upon the scalp or the eyelash. A copaiba resin and a metal containing pigment are combined to obtain the hair coloring product. The resultant product is applied to the hair upon the scalp or the eyelash to effect coloring of the hair upon the scalp or the eyelash.

Abstract: A solid three-dimensional article is formed from a liquid medium by initially coating a layer of the liquid medium on a fixedly mounted apertured support plate. An initial cross-section or profile of the article then is formed by solidifying the liquid medium, or at least a portion thereof, on the support plate. In another embodiment, each layer of the liquid medium is formed by dispensing the entire layer from above the fixed support plate. In a further embodiment, a device is disclosed for dispensing a liquid medium in layers of uniform thickness on the medium surface of a laser modeling machine, for solidification when subjected to prescribed energy. The dispenser comprises an elongated applicator or coating bar of rectangular, essentially solid construction, with a liquid medium reservoir and dispensing passageways located adjacent a dispensing side of the bar. A feed tube and traversing mechanism support rods are secured to an opposite side of the bar.
