Abstract: Unique methods for improving growth and maintenance of warm and cool season grasses are provided by treatment with prescribed irrigation solutions to improve water penetration and to increase soil oxygen, while, at the same time reducing water usage and inhibiting pathogens. In a presently preferred embodiment, the inventive method comprises the steps of producing a gaseous mixture of negatively charged ionized air including from about 50 parts per million to about 4,000 parts per million ozone, from about 1,000 parts per million to 20,000 parts per million oxygen ions, and from 2,000 to about 50,000 parts per million nitrogen oxides from ambient air; effecting direct contact between the ionized air gaseous mixture and a supply of water by means of a submicron injector to produce a substantially dissolved gaseous solution for irrigation of a wide variety of warm and cool season grasses.
Abstract: This invention provides an improved apparatus for non-contact quantum mechanical heating of thermoplastic fibers by resonant energy absorption of laser energy by the fiber. In one embodied form, the unique apparatus for continuous heating of thermoplastic fibers comprises a) a laser producing a CO continuous wave laser beam of resonant frequency for the prescribed fiber being treated; b) a mechanism for traversing the fiber to be treated across the path of the laser beam in a prescribed direction to the beam of radiation from the laser source; c) a mechanism for adjusting the rate of traversement of the fiber to maintain the temperature of the thermoplastic fiber within a temperature range of about five percent below the melting point of the thermoplastic fiber to continuously heat the fiber by resonant energy absorption of the laser beam.
Abstract: An improved device is provided for quick coiling and wrapping of wire or other flexible strand materials such as ropes, cables, hose or the like. In a presently preferred form, the device comprises a handle portion and a base portion, the base portion having an elongated body carrying two substantially parallel spaced laterally adjustable carrier arms protruding from the elongated body to securely hold the coil of flexible strand material in place on the device until the coil is wrapped and/or removed. The handle portion of the device is provided with a hand grip for conveniently gripping the device as the flexible material is wound thereon and an adjustment mechanism of for selecting the desired length of the elongated body.
Abstract: A wooden bench having a reinforced metal frame is provided. The reinforced bench comprises a metal back support frame section of unitary construction and a pair of curvalinear metal side support frame sections of unitary construction. The side frame section comprises a top arm rest support member and a bottom base support member, and a plurality of curved longitudinally aligned stiffening ribs. The stiffening ribs each have an upright leg portion and an upper arcuate portion outwardly flared to form a winged arm rest support.
Abstract: An improved reclining lounge chair is provided having a distended tubular frame surrounding a fabric base. The fabric base comprises a seat portion, a leg rest portion, and an upper back rest portion. The distended frame is detachably mounted within a fulcrum base member that permits pivoting adjustment of the frame between an upstanding or reclining position. In a presently preferred embodiment, the fulcrum base member further comprises two arm supports and a first arcuate stop bar that cooperates with a second arcuate stop bar disposed on the back rest portion of the tubular frame to limit the motion of the frame in a reclining position.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved method for treatment of feed water for swine to reduce odor and water pollution arising from lagoon slurry while at the same time improving live performance and carcass data. The inventive method comprises the steps of a) producing a gaseous mixture supply of ozone and oxygen gas from ambient air; b) effecting directing contact between said gaseous mixture derived from step (a) with a supply of water by means of a venturi injector device to produce a solution of said gaseous mixture and said supply of water; c) continuing said contact between said gaseous mixture and said water supply until the content of ozone in said water supply is within a range of from about 0.5 parts per million to about 10 parts per million, and the content of oxygen is about 80-97% saturation; and d) providing the resultant water supply from step (c) for use as feed water to swine.
Abstract: An improved wrist band for potable liquids is provided, the wrist band comprising an annular elastic container for maintaining a potable fluid such as a sports drink, ingestible medicine or the like to be worn on the wrist, for instance during jogging. In a presently preferred embodiment, the unique flexible annular container may further comprise an integral nipple element for the contained liquid to be dispensed from the container. Accordingly, in this embodied form the nipple closure is disposed at a mid-section on the outer wall of the annular container at a location to permit easy access to the mouth of the wearer. The material for fabricating the unique wrist band may be selected from non-toxic water proof materials, having sufficient elongation to break characteristics so that the inventive container may be easily slipped on the wrist over the hand of the user but when once positioned cannot be easily displaced except by purposeful exertion.

Abstract: This invention provides an improved method and apparatus for non-contact quantum mechanical heating of thermoplastic fibers by resonant energy absorption of laser energy by the fiber. In one embodied form, the unique method for continuous heating of thermoplastic fibers comprises the steps of: a) preparing a thermoplastic synthetic fiber for heat treatment; b) illuminating the fiber with a beam of radiation from a carbon monoxide continuous wave laser beam of resonant frequency for the prescribed fiber being treated; c) traversing the fiber to be treated across the path of the laser beam in a direction perpendicular to the beam of radiation from the laser source; d) adjusting the rate of traversement of the fiber to maintain the temperature of the thermoplastic fiber within a temperature range of about five percent below the melting point of the thermoplastic fiber to continuously heat the fiber by resonant energy absorption of the laser beam.
