  • Patent number: 4011994
Abstract: A novel sprayer for treating ground surfaces with liquid materials is described. The sprayer is readily transportable, collapsible, easily adjustable and non-corrosive and has a collapsible frame which includes an adjustable handle section, a dependent leg section and a guide between the handle section and the leg section. A pair of wheels are rotatably mounted on the leg sections and are inwardly collapsible to facilitate transportability of the sprayer. An elongated support member having an upper portion and a lower portion is secured to the collapsible frame by the guide. Attached to the lower portion of the elongated support member is an adjustable platform having a lower crossbar member and an upper crossbar member. Two bolts are adjustably connected to the two crossbar members in a manner such the distance therebetween can be adjusted by rotating the bolts. Attached to the upper crossbar member of the adjustable platform is a boom support.

  • Patent number: 3998758
Abstract: A novel supported catalyst is described. The catalyst contains (a) a ceramic sponge support having internal surfaces comprised of the walls of cavities randomly dispersed throughout the sponge support and the walls of intersticial passageways connecting said cavities; (b) a first layer of either nickel, copper or cobalt substantially uniformly deposited on and adherent to all internal surfaces of the ceramic sponge support; (c) a second layer comprising a lattice network of either nickel, copper or cobalt adherent to and on the surface of said first layer; and (d) a sufficient quantity of either aluminum, magnesium or zinc intermittently dispersed throughout the second layer to retain the integral structure of said lattice network. The catalyst exhibits increased efficiency over prior art catalysts when used in similar capacities.

  • Patent number: 3989374
Abstract: A novel electronic timing apparatus is described which contains means for selecting a preset time interval and means for selecting an actual interval to be timed which is equal to or less than, and also a function of, the preset interval. When the apparatus begins timing an actual interval, a first energy source is activated and a second energy source is deactivated. When timing of the actual interval is completed, the first energy source is deactivated and the second energy source is activated. The appartus is powered by a power supply means which furnishes a regulated direct current to integrated circuits requiring such and furnishes line frequency current to other circuits. It also contains means for generating and shaping periodic pulses from line frequency current to form an electronic time base signal for its operation.

  • Patent number: 3980514
Abstract: A reciprocal action apparatus for adhesively binding together pages to form a book is described. The apparatus contains two basic components; a stationary support member and a movable carriage member. The stationary support member contains carriage drive means, a clutch assembly for engaging and disengaging the carriage drive means, a cover mounting assembly, an adhesive applicator and reservoir assembly and an elongated carriage bar member. The movable carriage member which includes a clamping assembly for holding together the pages being bound travels in a reciprocating manner along the elongated carriage bar member. In operation, the movable carriage member transports the pages being bound to a first station where they are tangentially contacted by a rotating adhesive applicator. In association with the rotating adhesive applicator are scraper blades and "doctor" blade.
