  • Patent number: 6461596
Abstract: A composition suitable for topical application contains a hair growth promoter integrated into a carrier and a method for local treatment to produce increased hair growth. The composition is composed of an effective amount of spironolactone and an inert oleaginous carrier. The composition may also include ingredients to increase the blood flow about the hair follicles. The composition is applied topically to the area of the body that increased hair growth is desired. The composition is massaged into the skin and remains in place for a minimum of 8 hours. Mild heat may be applied immediately before or after the application to increase blood flow.

  • Patent number: 6279492
Abstract: A method of burning tires in a horizontally rotating combuster includes the steps of loading the tires into a rotating combustion chamber through a traveling air lock and burning them until they are reduced to ash; enhancing combustion by tumbling the burning tires in a tapered rotating chamber while adding preheated draft air; controlling the intake draft air using thermal expansion of the rotary combustion chamber to activate the draft control valve; advancing the residual ash with each successive revolution of the combustion chamber by use of angled flights on the inner surface of the chamber to an afterburner for completion of the combustion and disposal of the ash.

  • Patent number: 5544499
Abstract: The apparatus includes a plurality of yarn storage containers which receive skeins of different yarns which are to be interwoven to form a pattern in a knitted garment or article. The yarn containers include a removable top which contains a yarn outlet guide hole. The storage containers are mounted vertically on a horizontal base which has an upper plate that rotates and a lower plate that rests on the floor. About the periphery of the upper plate there are manually actuated turn pedals which may be operated by the foot or hand. As a garment or article is manually knitted, using different yarns in the pattern, the different yarns are twisted about each other forming unmanageable tangles as each leaves its skein due to the necessary manipulation of the yarns on the knitting needles. In use, this apparatus may be rotated manually in relation to the knitting procedure to obviate the formation of tangles in the yarns.
