Abstract: The present invention relates to a substantially dry, disposable, personal cleansing product useful for both cleansing and consistently conditioning the skin or hair. These products are used by the consumer by wetting the dry product with water. The product comprises of a water insoluble substrate, a lathering surfactant, and a conditioning component having a lipid hardness value of at least about 0.02 kg. This invention also encompasses methods for providing consistent deposition of conditioning agents to the skin or hair. The invention also encompasses methods for cleansing and conditioning the skin or hair using these products and to methods for manufacturing these products.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a substantially dry, disposable, personal cleansing article useful for both cleansing the skin or hair, and more particularly to a disposable, cleansing article having a substrate which preferably comprises of multiple layers. These articles are used by the consumer by wetting the dry article with water. The article comprises a water insoluble substrate having at least a first portion that is wet extensible and at least a second portion that is less wet extensible than said first portion and a lathering surfactant. Preferably, the articles of the present invention further comprise a conditioning component.

Abstract: The present invention relates to low pH topical sunscreen compositions which utilize unneutralized, 2-phenylbenzimidazole-5-sulfonic acid as the sunscreen active. These compositions exhibit good sunscreening efficacy and are highly substantive to the skin.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for inhibiting sebaceous gland activity in mammalian skin comprising administration of a topical composition comprising dehydroacetic acid or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, and a dermatologically-acceptable carrier. The present invention also relates to methods and topical compositions further comprising agents which regulate the oily and/or shiny appearance of skin, and agents which treat acne and related skin disorders in mammalian skin and scalp. Methods of reducing sebum synthesis with the use of dehydroacetic acid, methods of regulating the oily and/or shiny appearance of skin, and methods of treating acne and other skin disorders are also encompassed by the present invention.

The particles comprising the complex coascervate comprise 1) a polycation having a minimum filtrate with of about 10 grams, and 2) a polyanion. The complex coascervate is essentially free of cross-linking agent.

Abstract: The present invention relates to leave on, skin care compositions, comprising: (a) from about 0.1% to about 30% of a sunscreen active, (b) from about 0.5% to about 20% of a hydrophobic, structuring agent, (c) from about 0.2% to about 10% of a hydrophilic surfactant, (d) from about 0.1% to about 5% of a thickening agent, (e) from about 0.1% to about 25% of a skin lightening agent and (f) water.
