Abstract: A portable ramp system made according to this invention includes a pair of interconnected ramps for use with high-centering wheeled lawn equipment such as commercial walk-behind mowers. The ramps allow the equipment to move between a first lower elevation and a second higher elevation without its front wheels becoming airborne as the equipment traverses the ramps in a forward direction. The ramps are connected to one another by a flexible tether that allows the distance between the ramps to be easily adjusted and provides a means for stowing the ramps over the handles of the equipment The ramps may be stowed in a holder secured to the equipment deck. Magnets may be included in a bottom portion of the ramp to provide an optional means for stowing the ramps on the equipment.
Abstract: A casket with retractable handles which are flush with the sidewalls. The casket comprises a first and second sidewall, a first and second end wall, an exterior bottom, an interior floor, a top connected to one of said sidewall and at least one reinforcement member offset form one of said sidewall. A first and second opening are linearly aligned and pass through a sidewall and the reinforcement member respectively. An elongated handle with a first end and a second end, extends through and is slidingly received in said first and second opening, said handle having a stored position wherein said first end is flush with said sidewall and an extended position where said handle extends from said sidewall. In the preferred embodiment the elongated handles are located between a plane of the exterior bottom and a plane of the interior floor.
Abstract: A training apparatus for use by flyers in a cheerleading squad includes a stable base assembly, a balancing assembly, and a fixed or adjustable column located between the stable base assembly and the balancing assembly. The balancing assembly includes a deflectably resilient member and a standing surface that promotes proper alignment and mimics the feel that a flyer experiences when being supported by a base cheerleader. The deflectably resilient member provides two degrees of freedom of movement to the standing surface when the standing surface is under an external load. The standing surface preferably provides about the same standing area that typically provided by a base cheerleader. The column may be a fluid-activated cylinder that moves between a first and second vertical position and simulates a flyer being raised by the base.
Abstract: An improved roof ridge apparatus and method for its use includes a longitudinally extending rigid member that has a plurality of keyways located along its top and bottom wall surfaces and extending along the length of the rigid member. The rigid member is placed into a continuous paddy of foam adhesive laid along a roof underlayment and the keyways receive and engage with the expanding adhesive for bonding the rigid member directly to the roof without the need for mechanical fastening. The keyways protrude from the top and bottom wall surfaces. The protrusions provide spacing between the bottom wall surface and the roof and between the top wall surface and a roof tile so that an adequate amount of foam adhesive resides between these wall surfaces and those structures.
Abstract: An issue with conventional stretch films is that the edges of the film can be easily damaged, which may result in tearing or failure of the film during use. Folding the film edges may reduce such damage but yields uneven rolls of film that are difficult to unwind. The present disclosure describes in-process devices, systems, and methods for oscillating the film to prevent stacking of the folded edges as the film is wound onto a film roll. The present disclosure also describes in-process devices, systems, and methods for entrapping air between the layers of film as they are wound onto a film roll. As a result, the film is less susceptible to damage and easier to use.

Abstract: A flexible connector couples the inlet end of a tracheotomy tube inner cannula to an outlet port of an in-line catheter. The catheter exit end of the connector is adapted to be serially coupled in pneumatic communication with the inlet end of the tracheotomy tube inner cannula and also to guide the downstream tip of the catheter into the inlet end of the inner cannula in response to pushing of the catheter upstream of the catheter outlet port. Thus, the in-line catheter can be inserted into the tracheotomy tube inner cannula with little likelihood of having to compress or “flip” the connector or disconnect the connector from the tracheotomy tube and the patient from the ventilator circuit.
Abstract: A caddy for storing diamond polishing pads used by grinding machines holds multiple containers in a rack in a case. Each container is independently removable from the rack and case and stores a complete set of stacked pads so that sets of used pads are always sorted and accessible according to both their grit and wear characteristics. The case, rack and containers are configured with respect to the sets of pads and to each other so as to minimize their relative three dimensional motion during transport of the caddy. The case, rack and body of the containers are preferably made of cardboard so that many sets of pads can be stored and transported in one or more lightweight and inexpensive caddies.
Abstract: A reciprocated pump positioned at the lower end of a string of tubing in a bore hole that provides a passageway for moving formation fluid to the earth's surface, including a pump barrel supported in communication with the tubing and a standing valve at the lower end thereof providing a first passageway through which formation fluid flows into the pump barrel, the pump barrel having an intermediate vent port providing a second entry passageway, and a tubular plunger reciprocated within the barrel and having an upper and a lower portion with a plurality of non-metallic seal rings separated by metallic spacers received on the plunger upper portion and configured to support a column of formation fluid within the tubing to substantially isolate the portion of the barrel below the non-metallic seal rings from the tubing pressure to thereby allow formation fluid to move into the pump barrel.
Abstract: A dredge propulsion system mounted on the same boom as the cutter head. The propulsion system has one or more augers which can be operated individually to maneuver the dredge. In the preferred embodiment a pair of augers are mounted parallel to one another on a subframe which is connected to the boom of the cutter head. The subframe comprises a first member pivotally attached to the boom. Each auger is carried by a three bar linkage mounted to the first member.
Abstract: A method and system for launching a pipeline pig includes the steps of compressing a modulating bypass valve of a pipeline pig and installing a locking means to temporally maintain the bypass valve in the compressed state. Once the pig has travelled a predetermined distance through the pipeline, the locking means is released and retrieved through the launch trap door. The locking means is preferably a launching pin having a clip attachment that receives the clips of a retractable lead. The lead is housed by a retraction device that is detachably secured to the launch trap door. The modulating valve has sufficient mass and aerodynamic drag to overcome the force of a gas spring. The valve moves between a retracted and compressed position substantially instantaneously upon the pipeline pig stalling and between the compressed and retracted position substantially instantaneously upon the pipeline pig accelerating.

Abstract: A single use, reciprocal reverse rotation, endodontic file includes a plurality of spaced apart helical flutes with spiraled lands therebetween. The lands have an edge with a positive cutting angle when the file is rotated in one direction and a scraping angle when rotated in the opposite direction. The file provides for sequential rotation of a selected angle in a forward direction followed by rotation of a slightly less angle in a reverse direction. In one embodiment, the cross-sectional area of the flutes is concave polygonal-shaped at a proximal end of the file and square-shaped at the distal end. In another embodiment, the cross-sectional area of the flutes is convex arcuate-shaped, the lands lying normal to the central longitudinal axis of the file. The handle portion of the file may be configured for use in a rotary handpiece or for manual rotation.
Abstract: The present invention is a method of plugging a pipeline having an exterior surface including the steps of affixing to the exterior of the pipeline first and second spaced apart collars, welding each collar to the pipeline so that an operating space is provided between the collars, positioning a seal with each collar, affixing a containment housing to the opposed collars providing a confined space around the pipeline and surrounding the operating space between the collars, the confined space being accessed by a passageway, cutting and removing a length of pipeline between the collars providing opposed pipeline exterior end surfaces, positioning first and second seal cups between the collars, each seal cup having a forwardly extending circumferential lip of internal diameter greater than the external diameter of the pipeline, and applying force to move the seal cups away from each other, the circumferential lips of the seal cups engaging with the opposed seals to compress them into sealing engagement with the
Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement for use with a plug (1) for sealing against an inner wall of a pipeline (30), comprising a main body and sealing means, which sealing means comprises an annular packer element (7), arranged between two relative movable body elements (5,6) of the main body actuated by actuation means, where the movable elements form surfaces (500,600) in abutment against the packer element (7). The packer element (7) comprises a radially inner section (705) which is mainly incompressible in a direction transverse to a circumferential direction and where sections of the two surfaces (500,600) in abutment against the inner section (705) of the packer element (7) in a retracted position, forms different angles in relation to an axis in radial direction in relation to a longitudinal axis of the plug.
Abstract: An ultrasonic liquefaction endodontic system having a graspable hand piece includes a contra-angle tip assembly that has an insert and an internal fluid flow passageway. A portion of the fluid flow passageway passes through a C-shaped receiver located at the end of the receiver so that an ultrasonic frequency may pass directly to the fluid flowing through the passageway. The fluid flow passageway may be an injection tube and the tubular body portion of the tip assembly may be injection molded around the injection tube and the insert. A supply tube, which is held in position by tube guides connected to the hand piece, provides a source of flushing fluid with and without pulsed pressure. The fluid pressure pulses may have an ultrasonic energy superimposed thereon as the fluid is forced into a root canal.

Abstract: A stand secures a loaded firearm in an inoperable condition for quick release to an authorized user in the event of an emergency. A housing serves as a base for the stand. A mechanism fixed to the housing prevents the firearm from firing. For example, a rod fixed to the housing is inserted through the muzzle and into the bore until it extends into an empty chamber of a revolver or into the receiver of an automatic pistol. Another mechanism mounted on the housing is operable between a first position in which it permits engagement of the firearm on and disengagement of the firearm from the rod and a second position in which it prevents disengagement of the firearm from the rod. The operating mechanism may be actuated manually by a key or electronically by a key pad, a fingerprint recognition pad or the like.
