  • Patent number: 6307085
Abstract: A process for generation of acid uses a medium comprising a first acid-generating component capable of generating a first acid, and a secondary acid generator, this secondary acid generator being capable of thermal decomposition to form a secondary acid, the thermal decomposition of the secondary acid generator being catalyzed by the first acid. At least part of the medium is exposed to so as to cause formation of the first acid from the first acid-generating component; and the medium is then heated to cause, in the exposed part of the medium, acid-catalyzed thermal decomposition of the secondary acid generator and formation of the secondary acid.

  • Patent number: 6258505
Abstract: An imaging medium comprises a substrate carrying a color-change layer. This color-change layer comprises two layers or phases comprising two color-forming reagents which react upon heating to cause a change in the color of the layer. The color-change layer is deactivated by exposure to actinic radiation such that after deactivation it no longer undergoes its thermal color-change. The color-change layer is detachable from the substrate by heating to a temperature lower than required to cause the color change, so that upon contact of the imaging medium with a receiving sheet each individual pixel of the color-change layer may be left attached to the substrate, transferred to the receiving sheet but left uncolored, or transferred to the receiving sheet and colored to a color level determined by the energy used in the associated thermal print head element.

  • Patent number: 6221554
Abstract: There is described a self-developing film unit which has a photosensitive member and an image-receiving member and wherein one outermost surface of the film unit comprises a support layer carrying a layer of a releasable material and a layer of an adhesive material. After an image is formed in the film unit by photoexposure of the photosensitive element and photographic processing of the exposed photosensitive element, the support and releasable material layer can be removed and the film unit or the image-receiving element, as the case may be, adhered to a surface for viewing of the image.

  • Patent number: 6001531
Abstract: The present invention relates to a photographic processing composition comprising an aqueous alkaline medium including titanium dioxide particles and a stabilizing agent comprising a polymer polymerized from repeating units of styrene and an acrylic acid. The presence of the stabilizing agent substantially reduces the settling out of the titanium dioxide particles in the subject processing composition, and maintains the substantially uniform distribution of titanium dioxide particles therein. The subject processing compositions are useful in photographic diffusion transfer film units and processes.

  • Patent number: 6000863
Abstract: A method for photographic processing of an exposed photosensitive film wherein a plurality of photographic processing elements comprising a carrier layer and a photographic processing layer containing photographic processing material are brought into contact, consecutively, with the exposed photosensitive film whereby a visible image is formed in the film. Each photographic processing element is initially brought into contact with the photosensitive film with the application of pressure and the processing element and the film are allowed to remain in contact with each other for a required period of time, during which at least one, and preferably a plurality of, additional pressure applications are carried out.

  • Patent number: 5784651
Abstract: A photo booth for capturing an image of a subject and providing reproductions of the image is constructed from self-contained modules--an apparatus module and a background module--linked via a roof module and a floor member. The modules can be easily bundled for handling and storing and occupy, when bundled together, a substantially smaller floor space than when the modules are secured to each other for operation as a photo booth. The apparatus module includes an image capturing device, such as a photographic camera using self-developing film, an electronic camera or a combination thereof, and an image reproduction device and may further include means for illuminating the subject, for image processing and display and for receiving payment. Means for controlling the temperature and humidity inside the apparatus module may also be provided. The apparatus module may also be used as a stand-alone unit.
