The apparatus further includes a magnet contacting element disposed on a release lever on the second handle, wherein pressure is applied to release the release lever from contacting the magnet in an open position.

Abstract: A peripheral device assembly is disclosed wherein the assembly includes a device bay for receiving a peripheral device carrier. An interior side surface of the device bay defines at least one extrusion portion surrounding a hole for receiving a first end of a lever arm of the peripheral device carrier, and the extrusion portion comprises edges protruding from the interior side surface of the device bay toward an exterior side surface of the device bay.

Abstract: A method for monitoring a sleep condition with a sleep scheduler is disclosed wherein the method includes receiving a sleep parameter via an input receiver on the sleep scheduler. The method further includes associating the sleep parameter with an overall alertness and outputting a determined sleep condition based on the overall alertness. A system for providing a sleep condition is further disclosed therein the system comprising includes a display, an input receiver operable to receive a sleep parameter, and a processor in communication with the display. The processor may be operable to determine an overall alertness associated with the sleep parameter and wherein the processor is operable to output a determined sleep condition based on the overall alertness.

Abstract: Implementations described herein generally provide methods, systems and media for recovering data from disk failures. One method generally includes calculating a global parity for a group of disks comprising multiple independent RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) arrays; determining if a two disk failure has occurred within a single RAID array; and if so, recovering from the two disk failure using the global parity and data from the RAID arrays.

Abstract: A method for configuring a peripheral device in communication with an information handling system (IHS) is disclosed, wherein the method includes receiving visual data associated with the peripheral device and mapping configuration data to the peripheral device based on the visual data. The method further includes utilizing the configuration data to configure the peripheral device in communication with the IHS. An information handling system (IHS) in communication with an image capturing device is further disclosed including a storage device operable to store a database, the database configured to store a standard image of a peripheral device, wherein the standard image is associated with configuration data for the peripheral device. The system further includes a memory coupled to the storage device and a processor to receive visual data associated with the peripheral device from the image capturing device.

Abstract: A method for managing a redundant memory architecture for an information handling system (IHS) may include providing redundant memory for a portion of system memory wherein the redundant memory is configured to mirror data stored in the portion of system memory. The method may further include reporting a parameter associated with the portion of system memory to an operating system of the IHS and executing a program from the portion of system memory.

Abstract: An information handling system (IHS) provides a method for conserving power. The method includes monitoring at least one performance characteristic of the IHS and determining if the at least one performance characteristic is below a low performance threshold. If the at least one performance characteristic is below the low performance threshold, a first controller is switched into a low power mode, wherein a first set of logical unit numbers (LUNs) are reassigned to a second controller.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus and media for managing jobs of an object-oriented information model. Managing includes maintaining and updating job status information resuming interrupted jobs following a reboot of the host system, issuing job references to clients, and manipulating job data for example, listing, retrieving, and/or deleting job data. Each job of an object-oriented model may be represented in a cache by a data section comprising data describing the corresponding job. Data includes a unique identifier, job state information, action after reboot information, and whether the job requires that the system undergo a reboot.

Abstract: A method for reducing the receipt of multiple signals in a portable information handling system (IHS) is closed including receiving a first signal corresponding to a detected lid position of the portable IHS. The method further includes determining if a first predetermined amount of time has elapsed and if the first predetermined amount of time has not elapsed, preventing the receipt of an additional signal corresponding to a change in the detected lid position. Further, a portable information handling system may include a lid, a base coupled to the lid and a sensor disposed on the lid or base, wherein the sensor detects a lid position. The system further includes a processor coupled to the sensor, wherein the processor generates a first signal corresponding to the lid position and the processor is operable to generate an additional signal corresponding to a change in the lid position.

Abstract: A method for compact encoding including providing a first value field allocated in a first portion of a memory, wherein a portion of the first value field is utilized to store a fixed-size variable. A most significant zero bit (MSZB) is located in the first value field, and it is determined if the fixed-size variable can be written in a first area without performing an erase operation. The first area includes the N bits following the MSZB in the first value field. The fixed-size variable is written into the first area if the fixed-size variable can be written without performing the erase operation.

Abstract: A method for reducing power consumption in an information handling system (IHS) where the method includes receiving main data through a main link, wherein the main link provides at least one data lane. The IHS also receives a reference clock corresponding to the main data through an auxiliary channel and provides the reference clock to a first phase-lock loop, wherein the first phase-lock loop outputs a stream clock.

An information handling system is further disclosed including a processor and memory accessible by the processor. The system further includes instructions stored on the memory that when carried out cause the system to initialize a discovery process identifying each managed object of the information handling system.

Abstract: A method for writing bytes to flash memory is disclosed herein whereby the method comprising includes counting bytes from a data source, the bytes associated with a first value and a second value and comparing a number of bytes associated with the first value with a number of bytes associated with the second value. The method may further include inverting the bytes in the case where the number of bytes associated with the first value is greater than the number of bytes associated with the second value and transferring the bytes not associated with the second value to the flash memory.

Abstract: A method for automated scripting includes providing a first menu corresponding to a first object, wherein the first object is a message queue (MQ) object. A first parameter for the first object is received. A second parameter is also received, wherein the second parameter is entered by a user in the first menu. A process for preparing a coating composition is further disclosed including the step of contacting a polyol, a silsesquioxane, a polyurethane dendrimer, and a crosslinker to form a coating mixture dispersed within a solvent. The process further includes adding a pigment in contact with a dispersing agent to the coating mixture, and forming a self-stratifying coating having at least one layer, wherein the pigment resides substantially within one of the at least one layer.

Abstract: An information handing system provides a method for recovering encryption keys. The method includes providing a first recording medium of a plurality of recording media in a first drive of a plurality of drives. A first key is requested from a primary key manager (PKM) associated with the first drive, wherein the first drive provides a first key identifier (ID) to the PKM. If it is determined that the PKM provides the first key corresponding to the first key ID, a first identifying information for the PKM is stored in a memory for the first recording medium.

Abstract: A method of configuring a virtual disk for an information handling system is disclosed. The method comprises embedding a data structure onto a data storage medium prior to installing the medium into an information handling system. The data structure makes up a default policy for configuration of a RAID container using the data storage medium and is recognizable by a controller. When the controller identifies the data structure the controller will read the data structure and configure the medium having the structure into a virtual disk such as a RAID container.
