  • Patent number: 6962123
Abstract: An underwater maneuvering device is disclosed. It utilizes a horizontal planar member, a perpendicularly disposed fin member, hand grip portions, and a towing bridle, pulley and towline assembly that permit the device to freely change its angular alignment to the towline for diving, turning and surfacing maneuvers. The arrangement of the members and hand grip portions permit gripping thereof by the diver so that the drag forces of the diver input the forces needed to control the device, requiring little or no additional effort on the part of the diver. The device may be constructed to disassemble for easy transport and storage.

  • Patent number: 6690890
Abstract: The system includes a generally broadband, low coherence length light source that injects light into a fiber beamsplitter that is used to generate counterpropagating light beams in a Sagnac loop. The loop includes two facing fiber beamsplitters connected together at differing length inner legs, with one of the output legs of the second beamsplitter usually being connected to a in place optical fiber that ends with a phase modulator followed by a mirror. Formatted data is transmitted by impressing relative phase differences between the counterpropagating light beams. Optimum performance depends on appropriate choices for critical lengths in the system.

  • Pen
    Patent number: 6629798
Abstract: There is provided a pen in which ink is supplied steadily from an ink tank to a pen point. Ink in an ink tank 6 is supplied to a pen point 5 through a slender tube portion 4A of an ink introducing slender tube 4. Excess ink can be kept by a stuffing member 7 that is in contact with a portion in which the ink introducing slender tube 4 and the pen point 5 are connected to each other and a gap 8 provided in the connecting portion.

  • Patent number: 6556509
Abstract: An apparatus and method is presented to provide wide dynamic range balanced measurements of the input phase to an interferometer using a phase generated carrier especially useful utilizing time multiplexing to demodulate a series of interferometers with high accuracy. A modulation drive output is provided by the invention and maintained under operation at the optimum amplitude by an internal feedback loop. The resulting highly stable system which is time balanced, can be fabricated from an analog to digital converter, a digital signal processor, and a digital to analog converter making low cost open loop demodulators a reality.
