  • Patent number: 7121339
Abstract: A solids-stabilized oil-in-water emulsion and a method for preparing the solids-stabilized oil-in-water emulsion. The oil-in-water emulsion is formed by combining oil, water, solid particles and a pH enhancing agent and mixing until the solid-stabilized oil-in-water emulsion is formed. The low viscosity oil-in-water emulsion can be used to enhance production of oil from subterranean reservoirs. The low viscosity oil-in-water emulsion can also be used to enhance the transportation of oil through a pipeline.

  • Patent number: 6267143
Abstract: A multi-port injection/selection valve utilizes a ferrule cluster to connect tubes or capillaries to a common port in the valve. The use of micro ferrule clusters, as opposed to conventional connectors such as nuts and/or bolts, permits the capillary ends to be positioned in extremely close proximity to the valve rotor and to each other, thus minimizing the volume between two capillaries when they are in brought into fluid communication with each other.

  • Patent number: 6143682
Abstract: This invention relates to single site catalyst systems comprising activated bimetallocyclic transition metal compounds, and the use of these catalyst systems for the polymerization of ethylenically and acetylenically unsaturated monomers. The bimetallocyclic compounds comprise two metal atoms, selected from the group consisting of Group 4 or Group 5 metal atoms, connected through two covalent bridging links so as to form a cyclic compound having delocalized bonding in the cyclic structure. The exemplary bimetallocyclic compound bis-M-(trimethylsilyl-methylidyne) tetrakis-(trimethylsilylmethyl) ditantalum activated with alumoxane and borate compounds is shown to be useful for preparing ethylene polymers having M.sub.n of at least 267,000 and MWD of about 2.3.

  • Patent number: 5763532
Abstract: Blends of semi-crystalline polymers with rubbery thermoplastic copolymers are provided. The rubbery thermoplastic copolymers are elastic at temperatures above their Tg's and properties similar to thermoplastic elastomers and surface tensions 5 dynes/cm or more different, preferably greater than the surface tension of the semi-crystalline polymer. Improved properties include good elastic recovery, toughness, and high elasticity without significant loss in optical properties.
