  • Patent number: 7347580
Abstract: An adapter device, for enabling installation of an electrical light fixture to a ceiling mounted electrical box by one person, includes an opening into which a plurality of bendable tabs and a cover screw engaging yoke extend. The adapter device is affixed in an electrical access hole in the body of the electrical light fixture and enables the light fixture to be temporarily suspended from the partially unscrewed cover screw on the electrical box. The temporarily suspended light fixture may be readily aligned with adjacent walls, etc., rotated to enable installation of permanent support anchors, and repositioned to permanently secure it to the installed support anchors.

  • Patent number: 6470622
Abstract: A rodenticide dispensing system includes a bait station as the lower part of a garbage container. The bait station has a horizontally disposed bait rod extending along substantially the full length of the front wall of the container. A hinged, lockable door, provides access to the bait rod, which is releasably supported at its ends. A pair of access holes are provided in the sides of the station for entry and exit of rodents. The access holes are located a substantial horizontal distance away from the bait rod to minimize the likelihood of tampering. The bait rod is supported within the bait station at a desired feeding height for rodents. The bait station may also be constructed as a stand alone unit.

  • Patent number: 5690013
Abstract: An automatic bagel slicer includes a transport mechanism with spring loaded clamping panels for securely holding a bagel in a cutting attitude with respect to a horizontally disposed reciprocating cutting edge. A detent plate, that is mounted for limited vertical movement on the transport mechanism, has a contour that controls the opening and closing of the clamping panels in a coordinated manner as the transport mechanism is driven up and down. The sliced bagel is automatically released when the transport mechanism is at the lower part of its travel. The cutting edge is always concealed, thus precluding any danger to the user.

  • Patent number: 5075122
Abstract: A juice extractor comprises a split containment that houses a distendable elastomer for embracing the outer surface of a fruit. An extracting mechanism, including a perforated sleeve, is inserted through the skin of the fruit and an inner inflatable bladder is expanded within the body of the fruit to express liquid therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5073721
Abstract: A noise immune electronic switch is connectible between a cigarette lighter socket of a vehicle and a plug-in accessory device. The electronic switch is turned on in response to the drop in B+ voltage at the lighter socket when the automobile starter is engaged for rapidly charging an integrating capacitor that is coupled to a comparator. The other comparator input is connected to a source of reference voltage. The output of the comparator, when switched, drives a transistor switch conductive to couple the B+ line between the cigarette lighter socket and an output connector. A filter passes alternator ripple voltage on the B+ line to an amplifier where the ripple is amplified and inverted. The negative half cycles of the ripple voltage charge the integrating capacitor to maintain the comparator output switched.

  • Patent number: 4955946
Abstract: A respiratory CO.sub.2 detector (10) comprising an infrared lamp source (44) and an infrared detector (50) responsive thereto forming an optical path for detecting the change in CO.sub.2 concentration, or an obstruction in a cuvette (42). The output of the infrared detector (50) provides a high and low voltage signal to be applied to a feedback control loop (12) and to an output circuit (14).The feedback control loop (12) includes a peak detector (22), a contamination detector (24), a pulse-width modulator (26) and a low pass filter (28), the latter providing a DC bias on the infrared lamp (44). The peak detector (22) is connected to the pulse-width modulator (26) to maintain the lamp voltage constant and is connected to comparators (56,62) to compare both outputs of the peak and contamination detectors (22,24). The contamination detector (24) will respond to blockage in the cuvette (42).

  • Patent number: 4694804
Abstract: A fuel injection adapter for a vehicle having a carburetor includes a fuel chamber coupled to the fuel pump of the vehicle, an operating lever adapted for coupling to the throttle lever of the vehicle and a pair of nozzles positioned in the throat of the carburetor for delivering fuel directly thereto. The nozzles are connected to fuel metering jets mounted in a wall of the chamber and corresponding fuel control needles are movable in and out of the jets to control fuel flow by means of a needle plate that is driven from the operating lever. The adapter can be mounted directly to the carburetor. A heater is positioned in the chamber for heating the fuel for cold weather starting. A shutoff valve is connected in the inlet fuel line and stops fuel flow into the chamber when the operating lever is in a position corresponding to a throttle wide open condition.
