  • Patent number: 7479992
Abstract: An image recording apparatus includes an image sensor. Image data of an object imaged by the image sensor is recorded on a recording medium to which an FAT system is adopted. A recording area of the recording medium is divided into a plurality of clusters, and available clusters can be dispersedly distributed. When formatting the recording medium, a CPU increases a cluster size as a capacity of the recording medium is larger, or the recordable number of frames of the recording medium is greater.

  • Patent number: 7450162
Abstract: A digital camera 10 includes a CCD imager 14. When an interval photographing or an animation photographing is selected, an object is photographed by the CCD imager 14 for a plurality of times, and compressed image data is generated each photographing by each photographing. The generated compressed image data is stored in a temporary area of an magnetooptical disk 42. Upon completion of photographing the desired number of frames, the generated respective compressed image data are converted into a moving image file, and moved to a proper recording area of the magnetooptical disk 42. Frame rate information is written in the moving image file. Upon reproducing, firstly, the frame rate information is detected, the compressed image data of each frame is reproduced in accordance with this information. The moving image that moves at a desired speed is displayed on a monitor 30.

  • Patent number: 7445169
Abstract: A cap dispenses material from a container having a mouth. The cap has a main body mountable on the mouth. The main body includes a protruding portion having an opening for receiving material moving through the mouth. A combination seal and dispensing spout is pivotally mounted to the main body and has a top wall with an extended portion. The spout may be pivoted on the main body between a sealing position and a dispensing position. In the sealing position, the spout blocks flow of material through the opening. In the dispensing position, the spout is aligned with the opening in the protruding portion to allow material to flow through the protruding portion and onto the spout so that the material may be dispensed.

  • Patent number: 7408510
Abstract: A patch antenna (10) includes a dielectric substrate (12), a patch conductor (14) and a ground conductor (18) formed on both surfaces thereof. A step (16) is formed on the lower surface of the dielectric substrate, which makes a spacing between the patch conductor and the ground conductor nonuniform in a direction of length of the patch conductor. By making nonuniform the spacing between the patch conductor and the ground conductor in the direction of length of the patch conductor, radiation efficiency and antenna gain are changed in that direction, resulting in asymmetrical directivity.

  • Patent number: 7352396
Abstract: An edge emphasizing circuit includes a first high-frequency detection circuit and a second high-frequency detection circuit. A spatial frequency of a raw image signal corresponding to a photographed object is detected by the first high-frequency detection circuit or the second high-frequency detection circuit, and a gain corresponding to a detection result is made effective. The gain to be made effective is decreased as the spatial frequency of the raw image signal is low. The gain is applied to an edge emphasizing signal generated by the edge emphasizing circuit, and the raw image signal is added to the edge emphasizing signal to which the gain is applied. Thus, a raw image signal with an emphasized edge is obtained.

  • Patent number: 7334886
Abstract: A bulk ink delivery system for ink jet printers and the like includes one or more cartridge housings which conform to the shape of a manufacturer's standard, ink-filled cartridge so that the cartridge housing may be substituted for the ink-filled cartridge normally associated with the printer. Inside the housing is situated an ink pump, a reservoir, and a control circuit for operating the ink pump. The ink pump replenishes the ink reservoir in the cartridge housing, and receives ink from one of several external ink bottles, one bottle for each color and one bottle for each cartridge housing. The control circuit for operating the pump includes a high volume primary level sensing switch, which monitors the quantity of ink in the internal reservoir within the cartridge housing. The control circuit energizes or de-energizes the pump to add more ink as required to the reservoir in order to maintain a pre-determined level of ink within the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 7280150
Abstract: A video camera (10) includes a photographing device (16). The photographing device (16) generates an image signal corresponding to an optical image irradiated on a light-receiving surface, and a monitor (34) displays a moving image based on a generated image signal. An amount of incident light into the photographing device (16) is controlled by an aperture apparatus (14) having an aperture blade that moves to a direction perpendicular to a light axis. A moving amount of the aperture blade is restricted by a predetermined value, and this defines a minimum value of an F number. When the moving image is displayed on the monitor (34), it is prohibited to set to the minimum value of the F number.

  • Patent number: 7273591
Abstract: A slide cartridge for use with a chemical analyzer includes an upper ring and a lower ring secured together but rotatable with respect to each other. The upper and lower rings define a plurality of reaction chambers between them, which receive dry analyte test slides. A gear track formed in the underside of the lower ring engages a pinion gear attached to a stepping motor of the chemical analyzer in order to rotate the slide cartridge. The slide cartridge is rotated under a sample fluid metering device, which deposits a sample fluid on the test slides through a plurality of spotter ports formed in the upper ring, and above a reflectometer, which performs a colorimetric measurement on the spotted test slides through viewing windows formed in the lower ring of the slide cartridge. A chemical analyzer with which the slide cartridge may be used includes a reflectometer, a sample fluid metering device and a stepping motor for rotating the slide cartridge.
