  • Patent number: 5301696
Abstract: A decorative pony tail holder for securely holding the hair of a user includes a band of elastic material with fabric surrounding the band and forming a plurality of radial projections extending circumferentially around a portion of the band. The pony tail holder may thus be secured to the hair by twisting the elastic band into a generally figure-eight configuration and folding it over itself to provide a tight band securing the hair with the radial projections extending circumferentially around the held hair of the user.

  • Patent number: 5273300
Abstract: A toy vehicle for a child has a frame having at least one front wheel mounted to a forward portion with real wheels mounted on a rearward portion of the frame. The front and rear wheels are adapted to engage a support surface, such as a floor, and a seat is mounted to the frame between the front and rear wheels at a height enabling a young child to propel the vehicle when seated on the seat by engagement of the support surface with the feet of the young child. Retractable foot pedals extend laterally from respective sides of the front wheels of the device and the pedals are retracted to enable the young child to either propel the vehicle by pedaling, or for enabling the child to propel the vehicle by pushing against the support surface with the pedals in the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 5265835
Abstract: A support for the forearm of a person actuating an object such as a computer mouse which can be slid along a horizontal surface includes a pad supported at a declination upon rolling elements. The forward portion of a person's arm is supported at the lower position of the pad, and the pad has a concave central portion rising upwardly at the lateral portions so that movement of the forearm can direct the position of the support.

  • Patent number: 5184756
Abstract: A water gun having a water reservior adapted to be partially filed with water includes a piston pump having an outlet connected to the water reservior. A hand-operated slide member can be reciprocated by an operator for the water gun, and a rack connected to the slide member drives a gear train connected to a flywheel. The flywheel is connected through a crank wheel to the piston of the piston pump, and as the operator withdraws the slide member to rotate the flywheel, the piston is reciprocated back and forth within the piston chamber of the pump to drive air into the water reservior. The flywheel maintains the reciprocating motion of the piston as the operator slides the slide member forward in preparation for another stroke. In this way, the pumping action is maintained by the flywheel as the operator reciprocates the slide member forward to begin another stroke.

  • Patent number: 5163680
Abstract: A toy for simulating the scoring of goals in the game of basketball includes a rim having an outer surface of conductive material and a frustroconical net suspended from the rim. A ball adapted to fit within the rim has an outer surface of conductive material so that an electric circuit including a signal-generator produces a signal to the player of the game whenever the ball strikes the rim while passing therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5078093
Abstract: A display device for a picture includes an aquarium having upstanding side walls, a closed bottom and an open top. A cover member is provided over the open top and has a slot for receiving a picture such as a photograph. A water-tight member depends from the slot in the cover member, and the water-tight member is formed of a transparent material so as to be able to receive the picture to display it within the aquarium.

  • Patent number: 4869005
Abstract: A novelty device for representing an outdoor scene includes an outer portion configured to resemble the interior of a room and having an opening which may represent a door or a window for viewing the outdoor scene. An inner portion is positioned behind this opening, and the inner portion contains artwork representing the outdoor scene and a fluid containing particles adapted to be spread throughout the fluid. In this way, the inner portion can be shaken to spread the particles throughout the fluid so that they may settle by gravity to resemble falling objects such as snow or autumn leaves traditionally found in the outdoors. The inner piece may be divided into two compartments which represent different seasons of the same outdoor scene and, in this way, the inner piece can be removed with either of its scenes positioned behind the opening to illustrate either of two outdoor scenes.

  • Patent number: 4772140
Abstract: A print head drive system of the type wherein there is provided a one-shot generating circuit for generating one-shot pulses in response to an instruction given from a processor and the energization of a head is effected in response to the one-shot pulse supplied from the one-shot generating circuit, characterized in that there is included a mechanical trouble detector for detecting occurrence of trouble, the pulse duration of one-shot pulse generated in the one-shot generating circuit is made shorter than the time interval during which the energization of the head is effected in the normal operating time, and the processor issues during the normal operating time the instruction plural times to the one-shot generating circuit, whereby when abnormal operation is detected by the mechanical trouble detector, generation of one-shot pulse is inhibited, so that the time interval of energization of the head is shortened.

  • Patent number: 4765700
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a pusher device for a plastic optical fiber comprising a pair of pusher members for holding and fixing end portions of plural plastic optical fibers covered with sheaths, wherein said pusher members have a structure such that the end portions of said plural plastic optical fibers covered with said sheaths are held in plural positions longitudinally spaced away from each other of said optical fibers. With this arrangement, the sheaths are permitted to flex in a space between the two held positions upon bending of the optical fiber cable to thereby absorb difference in curvature.
