  • Patent number: 5740002
Abstract: An electronic load relay which can be manufactured in an uncomplicated and cost effective manner can, because of an arrangement of its contact-plug parts, replace an electromechanical load relay. This invention particularly solves the problem of heat dissipation from an electronic power switch in a beneficial manner by having an electronic power switch thermally and electrically directly coupled to a metallic wiring support, or board, which forms a plug contact assembly.

  • Patent number: 5739507
Abstract: A keyboard for cash registers and other registers of a type having long and short stroke keys (3) allows a structural reconfiguration for meeting various needs of customers. The keyboard, with all keys (3) thereof being at uniform key spacings, includes short-stroke rocker key assemblies (5) with short key moment arms (7) and a long switch moment arms (8) and long-stroke rocker key assemblies (4) with long key moment arms (7') and short switch moment arms (8'). When mounted, a key of a long-stroke rocker key assembly (4) is within a bifurcated end of a forked lever (9) of a respective adjacent long-stroke rocker key assembly. By making the long-stroke rocker key assemblies with forked levers in which keys of adjacent long-stroke rocker key assemblies are positioned, the keyboard can be adapted to meet customers desires with less expense.

  • Patent number: 5720221
Abstract: An assembly for controlling the temperature of a fountain fluid and/or selected drums of a printing machine comprises a fountain fluid circulating system for supplying a fountain fluid application means with a fountain fluid, a cooling fluid circulating system for supplying a drum cooling means with a cooling fluid, a first internal cold source which is in heat-exchanging relationship with the fountain fluid circulating system, a second external cold source which is in heat-exchanging relationship with the cooling fluid circulating system, and a means for selectively operating one of the circulating systems, for the fountain fluid or the cooling fluid, or both of these circulating systems. Further the condenser means of the first cold source is in heat-exchanging relationship with the refrigerant circulating system of the second cold source. The temperature controlling assembly thereby allows the requirements for cooling energy to be precisely matched to the currently effective operational mode.

  • Patent number: 5719461
Abstract: Along the inner lying rotor trailing surface (21) of an annular rotor (20) are successively provided regions (26a-c) of small wall thicknesses (29) and regions (25a-c) of larger wall thicknesses, which differ with respect to the acoustic impedance spectrum. During the state of operation, i.e. when the rotor (20) turns, the mentioned regions (24a-c; 25a-c) are excited alternately by the piezoelectric excitor (15) of the stator (13). The acoustic impedance spectrum which changes periodically, influences the electrical impedance spectrum of the motor (10) in an analog manner. These changes are measured via the voltage supply connections of the motor (10) and are interpreted as relative positional changes between the stator (13) and the rotor (20).

  • Patent number: 5716272
Abstract: A monitor for measuring the moisture content of grain comprises an AC signal source for transmitting a measurement signal along a measurement signal path that includes a sensor region in which grain may, or may not, be present, and an analyzer for determining the attenuation of the measurement signal along the path, the analyzer producing an indication of the moisture content of grain in the sensor region that is dependent on the attenuation. A simulator is provided to permit calibration, testing, maintenance and/or demonstration of the monitor without the requirement of grain in the sensor region. The simulator includes a programmable attenuator that is selectively electrically inserted in the measurement signal path and a control circuit for controlling the attenuator so that the measurement signal is attenuated and the analyzer produces an indication of grain moisture content even though no grain is present in the sensor region. The attenuator may be a PIN diode or a programmable capacitor.
