Abstract: A bolt assembly for use in a firearm is disclosed which is movably arranged in a weapon housing and which includes a bolt carrier and a bolt head. The bolt head can be alternately inserted in at least two positions in the weapon housing to adapt the firearm to eject spent cartridge casings in a desired direction. The bolt assembly also includes an extractor which is fastened laterally on the bolt or bolt head for withdrawing a cartridge casing from a barrel of the weapon housing during return of the bolt assembly, and an ejector integrated in the bolt mechanism which removes the cartridge casing from the bolt assembly after extraction from the barrel.
Abstract: Safety devices for use with a handheld firearm are disclosed. The safety devices include a lever that can be pivoted into the travel path of the hammer of the firearm to preclude the hammer from striking a firing pin. In an example, the lever is connected to the trigger such that the safety device is released when the trigger is pulled. In another example, the lever protrudes into the magazine shaft of the firearm such that the safety device is only released when a magazine is inserted into the shaft.

Abstract: Barrels, a breech structured to interact with such barrel(s), and firearms incorporating such barrels and breech are disclosed. The barrels include a cartridge chamber having an internal surface with a curvature. They also include a guide element located adjacent to and extending away from the cartridge chamber. The guide element is located at a point where a transverse movement of a cartridge being loaded ends during a loading process. The guide element has a surface having a circular shape whose curvature corresponds to the curvature of the internal surface of the cartridge chamber.
Abstract: A sighting device is provided for a grenade launcher of a firearm which includes an automatic weapon and a grenade launcher. The sighting device can be attached to either side of the firearm to facilitate left-handed or right-handed shooting. The sighting device includes a front sight and a rear sight. Each of the front and rear sights are mounted for pivoting movement between a resting or storage position and a sighting position.
Abstract: A nasal mask has a shell portion that is a hollow enclosure with a rearwardly facing opening that is defined by edge portions of the shell portion. A resiliently deformable endless interface member engages and extends around the edge portion of the opening and forms a seal between the shell portion and the user's face. The shell portion and the interface member are generally symmetrical about a median place. The shell portion has two gas inlet orifices, one on each side of the median place. The shell portion has a tubular exhalation outlet extending from the face of the mask. The mask is further provided with a balloon exhalation valve connected to the exhalation outlet for alternately venting and sealing the interior of the mask during exhalation and inhalation, respectively.
Abstract: A cord reel device (1) for connecting a signal source (A) to a remote device (B, C) comprises a spool (2) rotatable on an arbor (18), the spool (2) having an inner chamber (6) and an outer trough (8). A retractable cord (10) is removably held in the trough (8). A spring (220) for urging the rotation of the spool (2) in a direction to retract the cord (10) is held in the inner chamber (6). The inner cable (24) is electrically connected to the retractable cord (10). The cord reel (1) of the invention may preferably include EMI-RFI shielding (112), and may find particular utility in applications requiring a substantially miniature cord reel, such as with a cellular telephone or the like.
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are disclosed for releasably securing a retractable shoulder stock relative to the casing of a firearm. The retractable shoulder stock includes a slide rail which is displaceable relative to the casing. The slide rail defines a recess. The shoulder stock also includes a catch lever which is mounted for rotation about an axis. The catch lever has a peripheral surface that can be manually engaged to rotate the catch lever about the axis. The catch lever is positioned to selectively engage in the recess to releasably lock the slide rail in a first predetermined position.
