Abstract: A light weight portable hand-held apparatus for cutting and trimming vegetation, hedges, trees and the like and is provided with a rotatable blade housing have a plurality of cutting blades, said blades being square-shaped or U-shaped in configuration. A shroud designed for efficient transfer of cuttings and for providing protection from flying debris which may result by the cutting action of the blades. The cutting apparatus is provided with a receptacle for collecting the vegetation and branches after being cut and trimmed, said receptacle being designed for easy removal and for easy emptying. The blades used herein result in the cuttings being cut to a fine residue which increases the collecting capacity of the collection receptacle.

Abstract: A football place/field goal kicking training device which holds a football in a position for kicking with a holding pressure which simulates being held by a human holder. The training device is used to help a kicker practice field goal kicking and place kicking under conditions simulating actual play. The training device includes a base and a holding device mounted on said base, and three arm elements pivotal about three axes and in which the three arm elements are elongated members and are internally reinforced by lattice type structural members which effects a lighter and structurally stronger football kicking device.

Abstract: A longitudinal live rubber bowling ball insert having the purpose of providing a finger hole which is of a size which more properly matches the finger size of the user and, in which an internal wall portion of the insert is provided with a plurality of grooves, said grooves greatly increasing the "lift" which may be applied to the ball by the user resulting with the bowling ball having a more pronounced hook as it travels down the bowling alley. The insert is angled on both opposing ends, thus enabling the insert to be used in bowling balls drilled for right-handed or left-handed bowlers. The terminating angle is necessary in order that the insert, once placed in the bowling ball, does not extend out beyond the ball surface.

Abstract: A protective gear assembly includes cantilever-type protective pads to be used by those athletes engaged in contact sports such as football, hockey, etc. The pads are releasably attached to a one piece padded vest type jacket by strap like members which pass through apertures thereon. The vest jacket is designed to receive all the necessary elements in the protective gear assembly such as epaulettes, padded cups, back plates shoulder plates and breast plates.

Abstract: A Christmas tree stand for supporting Christmas trees of any size and formation. The support stand is designed such that the tree, if deformed or if placed in the stand at an angle, can be aligned very easily and quickly in a perpendicular position with respect to any type of floor, whether it be irregular or uneven. The receptacle for retaining the Christmas tree is formed integral therewith a hemispherical ball which is received by two adjustable jaws which form a hemispheric cavity. The receptacle is further provided, with a plurality of machine screws for retaining the Christmas tree trunk in a fixed vertical position in the receptacle, notwithstanding the shape or deformity of the tree.

Abstract: A flat keyway joint member having a multiplicity of sides, each side having a keyway slot for receiving an arcuately disposed elongated key. A predetermined number of joint members and key members are connected together for the assembly of a particularly designed member resulting in a structure completely closed upon itself. This invention may be used to construct geodesic structures and the like for such wide and varied use such as planters, greenhouses, etc. When used in greenhouse construction, the entire greenhouse can be assembled on the ground and simply raised when completed.

Abstract: A ball and socket conveyor chain, the links of which are designed so as to be capable of flexing in a plurality of planes and also designed to have upper table portions for supporting articles to be conveyed and which include a ball portion and a socket portion integrally made a part of the table portion. The ball portion of one link is retained in the socket portion of an adjacent link by a cap having outer surfaces that are drivingly engagable by some drive means. The method of connecting the links is unique in that the successive links comprising the chain are not connected to each other, but rather to every other link in the chain.

Abstract: An electrical system for providing an energy load regulator for use with electric clothes dryers and electric hot water tanks. The load regulator cycles the heating element within the dryer or hot water tank for predetermined periods while the appliance remains in an operative stage throughout the on and off cycles of the heating element.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a new and novel device for oxygenating water containing apparatus for sustaining life of live bait contained in said water containing apparatus. The device consists of an aspiration bulb connected to a hollow tube which is affixed to a wire framed net. When the bulb is compressed, is forced through and out of the tube and by design, is forced to pass over the wire framed mesh net which disburses the air flow over a larger area and the water containing apparatus.

Abstract: The improvement in a blade honing device having jaw members adapted to grip a blade to be honed and having honed guide members is to pivotally secure the hone guide members to one of the jaw members in such manner that the hone guide members may be folded from an operative position to a folded position in which they lie contiguous to and lengthwise along the jaw members.

Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a heat-activated patch or repair composition for metal object or surface capable of maintaining its shape at the temperatures to which it is heated to activate and set the composition and ranging from about 250.degree. to about 500.degree. F. comprising a preponderant concentration of a fibrous adhesive containing silicate, soda and asbestos fibrous cement, and lesser concentrations of iron ore and an alumina-containing air set mortar having Pier test of about 600 to about 800 p.s.i. and comprised of alumina, clay and grog (ground-up fired clay). The aforementioned heat-activated patch or repair composition is utilized in a system for repairing such metal object or surface by intimately associating said composition with asbestos cloth, preferably woven asbestos cloth, by applying said composition to one surface of said asbestos cloth and then wrapping the adhesive composition surface of the woven asbestos cloth around the exterior of the metal object or surface to be repaired.

Abstract: A discarding sabot projectile for shotgun of unique construction whereby the separation of the projectile and sabot is enhanced by opposing air pressure and the unique construction of the sabot. The sabot as utilized herein comprises a plastic body firmly encompassing, but not completely encapsulating a subcaliber projectile. The plastic body includes a plurality of longitudinally extending slots forming symmetrical segments and further, segment having longitudinally extending grooves for reducing friction between the barrel bore and the sabot. The segments are further defined at the other end thereof by longitudinal tapered edges. The sabot, upon exiting the launching device begins to separate from the enclosed projectile beginning at the uppermost front end of the sabot as a result of air pressure flowing in the opposite direction of the sabot.

Abstract: An improved blade holder for rotatably mounting a circular-shaped meat-cutting blade on one end of a power-driven handle. A split metal ring is formed with an interior annular groove for rotatably mounting a circular cutting blade thereon. A pair of arcuate-shaped flanges generally T-shaped in cross section are formed integrally with the ring on opposite sides of the split and extend axially upwardly from the top wall of the ring. The T-shaped flanges form an alignment groove for properly aligning the holder on the power-driven handle, and a pair of radially inwardly extending arcuate projections. The projections are received within a pair of complementary-shaped grooves formed in a lower end of an arcuate-shaped mounting plate for removably mounting the ring on the plate. A pair of holes are formed in the mounting plate through which a pair of screws extend which are engaged in a pair of tapped holes formed in the power-driven handle for mounting the plate and attached ring on the handle.

Abstract: An improved solid state self cancelling motorcycle turn signal system that recognizes when the turn has been completed. The circuit utilizes silicon controlled rectifiers for energizing the motorcycle turn signal lights. Mercury switches are adjusted and connected in said circuit such that when the motorcycle is in an upright position, the switches will open, thus turning off the system.
