Abstract: A water-in-oil emulsion, having improved stability, is provided which comprises about 40 to 80 percent by weight of an oil of lubricating viscosity; about 10 to less than about 60 percent by weight water, said percentages based on the total weight of the emulsion; a water-in-oil emulsifier; and an emulsion stabilizing amount of a stabilizer selected from the group consisting of sulfurized diisobutylene, sulfurized triisobutylene and mixtures thereof.
Abstract: Hydrocarbyl thiophosphoric acid-phosphite derived olefin and polymeric olefin adducts are superior as lubricating fluid media with internal synergistic multifunctional antiwear, antioxidant properties, and as multifunctional extreme pressure/antiwear additives for both mineral and synthetic lubricating oils as well as fuels.

Abstract: The invention is a grease composition comprising a major proportion of a grease, a hydroxy-containing soap thickener and a minor amount of a compound prepared by reacting a boron compound with an organic compound containing oxygen, sulfur and/or nitrogen. Sulfur and/or phosphorous compounds are also incorporated into the composition.

Abstract: A slip-coated thermoplastic film is disclosed wherein the slip coating applied is essentially an aqueous wax emulsion. The wax emulsion is preferably applied to a thermoplastic film such as polypropylene between the machine direction and transverse direction stretching process. The resultant slip-coated film has low haze, non-blocking, and consistently low coefficient of friction for good machinability.

Abstract: Terblends of linear low density polyethylene resins provide enhanced processability and improved output without losing overall film properties.
Abstract: Products made by reacting (i) an alkenylsuccinic compound with (ii) an arylamine and (iii) an alkanolamine, an aminomethane or a hindered alcohol and borated reaction products thereof which provide superior dispersant and antioxidant activity to lubricant compositions when incorporated therein.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of producing viscous hydrocarbons from a viscous petroleum-containing subsurface formation. At least an injection well and a production well are provided to extend from the surface of the earth into the subsurface formations. A high mobility, brine-filled channel is established through the lower portion of the subsurface formation to communicate with the injection and production well. After the high mobility channel is established, a solvent for the petroleum is injected into the high mobility channel. The injection of the solvent is continued until breakthrough of the solvent at the production well and thereafter until the ratio of petroleum to solvent produced from the production well becomes unfavorable. Thereafter, gas is injected into the high mobility channel to displace the solvent and petroleum from the formation to the production well.
Abstract: 1-hydroxyethyl-1-alkyl-2-imidazolines, bis-imidazolines and their derivatives impart good detergent properties to liquid hydrocarbon fuels containing a minor effective amount thereof.
Abstract: Improved water soluble lubricant compositions are provided by incorporating therein amides derived from alkylamines and succinic, tetrahydrophthalic or tetrahydrofuran tetracarboxylic acids.
Abstract: Hydrolysis products of 1-(2-hydroxyalkyl)-2-alkyl- or alkenyl imidazolines and borated adducts of hydrolyzed 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-alkylimidazolines are highly effective friction reducing or friction modifying additives when incorporated into lubricating compositions.
