  • Patent number: 7342811
Abstract: A lossless clamping circuit for use in a synchronous rectifier DC-DC converter in which at least one transistor switch (MOSFET) periodically connects two terminals of an output transformer winding across a main output and return terminal to provide a DC current at a selected voltage for a load connected between the output and reference terminals. A diode and an auxiliary capacitor are connected in series across the MOSFET's drain source so that the capacitor accumulates a charge in accordance with the reverse recovery current in the winding leakage inductance when the MOSFET is turned off and an auxiliary DC-DC converter is connected to the auxiliary capacitor for converting the accumulated charge across the capacitor to a DC current at a selected output voltage. Preferably the output of the auxiliary DC-DC converter is connected to the main output terminal to supplement the output power.

  • Patent number: 7281450
Abstract: Vehicle unlocking tool for unlocking vehicle doors from the outside of the vehicle comprises at least two rod sections which are coupled together one rod section having a handle for manipulating the overall rod tool and the other rod section having an end portion that is used to push or pull or otherwise manipulate a lock actuator. The first rod section is stiffer than the second rod section which is made to be flexible to avoid scratching the interior of the car, such as the door panels, seats or dash but still has sufficient stiffness to transfer the force necessary to unlock the door. Additional sections may be added to the rod to lengthen its reach as needed by the tool operator.

  • Patent number: 7278537
Abstract: A portable gift wrapping center includes a storage compartment having a storage area for accommodating rolls of wrapping paper and accessories. A primary lid is hinged to the back wall of the compartment and defines a centrally located shallow storage area for writing paper, cards, etc., with the top surface of the primary lid defining a plurality of orthogonal grooves. A secondary lid, hinged to the primary lid, for enclosing the shallow storage area. A plurality of foldable legs are hinged to the bottom wall of the compartment to allow the table to be raised to a desired height in the deployed position or stored under a conventional bed in the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 7220263
Abstract: A plate/screw system for immobilizing adjacent vertebral bodies or an interbody device includes a plate having at least one spaced opening with an upper section of a width or diameter of d1 and a lower section having or diameter less than w1. The lower section defines a partial or completed helical track for receiving a screw. A bone screw for insertion into the threaded opening has a head section of d1, an adjacent neck section of d2 and a thread section of d3 where d2<d3<d1 whereby the relationship between d1 and w1 determines whether the screw can or cannot pivot relative to the plate.

  • Patent number: 7170480
Abstract: A color video display apparatus comprises a pixel array with each pixel containing one or more LEDs for generating each of the selected colors and a diffractive optical element positioned in front of the array to form the transmitted light into a substantially elliptical pattern. Improved uniformity for the apparatus is achieved by measuring the intensity of each separate color generating LED in each pixel, recording each intensity and varying the current to each separate color LED or LEDs so that every LED or LEDs responsible for each color to provide a suitable color output. A feature of the apparatus is that a number of separate modules, each having a pixel array, can be combined to construct a video image board. These boards have applications in such areas as billboards along roadways and as signs in stadiums.

  • Patent number: 7160301
Abstract: A transverse connector system for interconnecting two spinal rods includes a connector arranged to span the distance between the rods with a rod receiving recess and a pin receiving bore on each end. A pin member such as a set screw is deposited within each bore with an enlarged head protruding from the bottom of the connector so that when the set screw is retracted into the bore the head engages a side of the respective rod to clamp the rod within the recess. The connector may comprise two elongated members with a recess and pin receiving bore at one end of each member, a middle coupler which allows three degrees of freedom between the members to accommodate any anticipated spatial orientation between the members and a set screw for securing the other ends of the members together.

  • Patent number: 7090089
Abstract: A container and sealable cover in which the container has a bottom wall and an upstanding peripheral wall terminating in an upper edge surrounding an open mouth. The peripheral wall is inclined outwardly at a slight angle to the vertical or alternatively vertically disposed. A replaceable cover is provided with a central top planar wall and an inverted U-shaped periphery terminating in an outer rim skirt. A contiguous downwardly extending sealing fin is disposed inwardly of the skirt for forming an interference fit with the inside surface of the upper portion of the container peripheral wall when the cover is installed over the container mouth. The fin may be substantially vertically disposed or canted outwardly at a small angle to the vertical depending upon the inclination of the peripheral wall.

  • Patent number: 7080754
Abstract: A large mouth, integrally molded, one-piece container has a generally rectangular bottom wall and front and side walls extending upwardly and outwardly from the bottom to a rim with front and back sections joined to flat side handle sections. The upper central portions of the side walls deviate inwardly from the lower portions to form an undercut region under the handle sections to accommodate a user's fingers. A lid with a downwardly extending skirt overlying the container skirt in the closed position is hinged to the container back wall adjacent the rim. A latching tongue is integrally molded with the front skirt wall and includes a central section spaced outwardly from the skirt with a cooperating hook member formed on the lower end thereof.

  • Patent number: 6981607
Abstract: A container cap assembly comprises a one-piece integrally molded annular cap body hinged to a one-piece integrally molded lid. The cap body has a lower section with internal female threads for cooperation with matching male threads on a container and an annular upwardly extending flange. The lid has a downwardly extending flange. The flanges have interlocking sealing surfaces which extend outwardly at an acute angle to the vertical so that the lid flange will snap over the cap body flange in the closing mode and retain the lid in a closed and sealed position relative to the cap body until the lid is forced upwardly.
