  • Patent number: 5226948
Abstract: A method of manufacture of a net form product, including directing a stream of liquid from a nozzle onto a collector of the shape of the desired product, applying an amplitude and time dependent modulated disturbance to the stream to produce a droplet stream, and with the nozzle and collector in a chamber, controlling the chamber environment. An apparatus for manufacturing a net form product having a source of molten material under pressure, a support for positioning a product collector in a chamber with the collector defining a desired product, a droplet stream generator positioned within the chamber and including a nozzle, a conduit for conducting molten material from the material source to the generator nozzle, a mechanism, typically a modulator, for amplitude and time dependent modulation disturbance of the droplet stream, and a drive mechanism for relative movement of the nozzle and support.

  • Patent number: 5209651
Abstract: A deep well pump for positioning in a bottom hole assembly and having at least one fluid pump and at least two fluid powered motors with the pump and motor pistons carried in alignment on the piston rod. The pump includes passages for delivering a power fluid to one end of each of the motor cylinders and for receiving exhaust fluid from the other end of the motor cylinders, and a valve for reversing this operation. A first sleeve is positioned around the first motor cylinder defining a power fluid path from one end of the first cylinder to one end of the second cylinder, a second sleeve is positioned around the first sleeve defining an exhaust fluid path from the other end of the first motor cylinder, and a third sleeve is positioned around the second motor cylinder defining an exhaust fluid path from the other end of the second motor cylinder, with the first and second exhaust fluid paths interconnected.

  • Patent number: 5207966
Abstract: Method for molding a strip of blind rivets, with each of the rivets having a pin within a sleeve and with the pin having a pulling head and shank, including a strip advance rod mounted in the apparatus for movement between first and second positions, a set of pin mold cavities and a set of sleeve mold cavities, a first runner for feeding the pin mold cavities and including a band around the rod, a second runner overlying the first runner for feeding the sleeve mold cavities, opposing mold members defining the sets of cavities and a sprue for feeding molding material to the runners, with the rod and strip moving together when the mold members are out of engagement for advancing the molded parts, and with the rod moving through the strip when the mold members are in engagement for returning the rod to the first position.

  • Patent number: 5192027
Abstract: A length of plastic with a copper powder adhered to a surface thereof along its length for control of growth of algae and the like, and method and apparatus for producing such a product. A multi-chamber drip irrigation hose for distributing water and the like having a larger primary tube and a smaller secondary tube of flexible water impermeable material and joined at a common wall having passages facing the interior of the primary tube in communication with the interior of the secondary tube and having passages leading from the interior of the secondary tube to the exterior, with a copper powder adhered to at least one inner surface along the length of the tube, with the powder being in a continuous layer or in a non-continuous layer. In one embodiment the copper powder is applied from a reservoir onto a plastic film by brushing directly onto the film or by transfer from a rotating wheel carrying the copper powder.
