Patent number: 6523557Abstract: In a substrate bath that processes substrate wafers using megasonic energy, a tank that is provided with reflecting surfaces that direct the megasonic energy to those portions of the substrates that would otherwise be sonically shadowed by the cassette that supports the substrates. In one aspect, a pair of curved wall surfaces are formed within the tank, each extending from one side wall to the bottom wall in curvilinear fashion and oriented longitudinally, the paired curved wall surfaces being disposed in laterally spaced, enantiomorpic relationship. The curved surfaces are arranged so that a significant amount of the megasonic energy impinges at an angle less than the critical angle, so that the energy is reflected in a diverging field that intersects the substrates and strikes those portions of the substrates that are shadowed by the cassette structure. Thus the megasonic cleaning, (etching or processing of the substrate) process is improved significantly.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2000Date of Patent: February 25, 2003Assignee: Imtec Acculine, Inc.Inventor: Kenneth C. Patent number: 6352408Abstract: Efficiency of a boat propeller is increased by curved flanges extending along the tips of the propeller blades. The flanges form projections at the blade tips which deflect water that flows radially towards the tips outward into the thrust producing water flow through the propeller. The flanges have arcuate outer surfaces that face away from the propeller hub and which have a center of curvature at the axis of rotation of the propeller. Arcuate inner surfaces of the flanges have centers of curvature which are offset from the axis of rotation. This flange configuration inhibits cavitation in the region of the flanges and also at the hub region of the propeller.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2000Date of Patent: March 5, 2002Inventor: Robert B. Patent number: 6351137Abstract: A method and device to emulate impedances includes a pair of impedances connected in series between a supply voltage and ground, the impedances forming a voltage divider having at its midpoint a reference voltage Vx. An OP AMP includes a positive input connected to the Vx node and the negative input connected to the output thereof in a direct feedback loop. The OP AMP output is also connected to a load impedance that is connected either to the supply voltage or ground. The unity gain OP AMP forces the output voltage thereof to follow the input voltage Vx, whereby the output voltage behaves as if it were created by a virtual impedance. By proper choice of components and values, the virtual impedance may comprise a large capacitor, and the remaining impedances may comprise resistance and small capacitance, both of which, together with the OP AMP, are easily integrated in a small die area.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2000Date of Patent: February 26, 2002Assignee: Pulsecore, Inc.Inventor: Dan Ion Hariton

Patent number: 6348174Abstract: Infectious wastes originating in hospitals or other locations are deposited into a sealable, pressure resistant, portable sterilizer vessel at the source of the wastes. The sterilizer vessel rides on wheels enabling travel of the filled vessel to a sterilization station at another location where steam is directed into the vessel to perform the sterilization. Operators need not transfer unprocessed infectious waste from a collection cart to a fixed sterilization vessel at the sterilization site. In the preferred form, handler exposure to unprocessed wastes is further reduced by creating an airflow from the vessel opening to a filter while the vessel is opened for deposit of wastes.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1999Date of Patent: February 19, 2002Inventor: John L. Patent number: 6345028Abstract: A process for recording and playing audio, video and/or data signals simultaneously from a recording medium includes the steps of initially acquiring a plurality of audio, video and/or data signals. Incremental temporal segments of each signal are taken and assembled into a single composite data frame in memory, and the composite frame is recorded in a permanent or erasable recording system. For example, the first 100 ms of each signal comprises the first incremental temporal segments, and all of these first segments of all signals are recorded in a predetermined order in the first composite frame. The second composite frame consists of the second 100 ms segments of the same signals, which are recorded in the same order as the first composite frame. This process is reiterated until the entire lengths of all of the signals are recorded in such composite frames.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 1999Date of Patent: February 5, 2002Assignee: Intertactile Technologies CorporationInventor: Denny Jaeger
