Abstract: A clamp, particularly adapted for use with a clothes hanger, has only two parts or jaws, one jaw of which may be integral with the clothes supporting branch of the hanger. One part of the jaw of the clamp has a pair of closely spaced, transversely extending, members forming a space therebetween, at least one of said members having resilient characteristics as is found in certain plastics, such as Nylon. The clamping end of said jaw includes a resilient loop. The other jaw consists of a curved elongated arm having a slotted pivot means on one end, and a head on the other end. The opposite side of the pivot means carries an indexing means. The slotted pivot means engages one of said transversely extending members forming a pivot for the arm, and the indexing means engage and ride along the other of said transversely extending members, giving the pivoted arm a step-by-step snap action motion when rotated about the pivot.
Abstract: A molding machine adapted to selectively mold conduits having rows of ducts in one or more tiers. Means are provided, in a carriage section, to selectively connect and disconnect any of a plurality of mandrels adapted to reciprocate with the carriage to vary the number of tiers to be molded, while a platform in a mold receiving section can be selectively raised to a number of positions to cooperate with the selected mandrels.
Abstract: An instrument for indicating levels above an irregular surface. A liquid reservoir of uniform internal cross section, having a scale on a transparent side wall indicating distances above and below a zero mark, is connected by a flexible duct with the bottom of an elongated transparent tube mounted on an elongated rod, the latter having a scale indicating distances above the bottom thereof. A pair of endless tapes is mounted for movement along the length of the tube. The tube is flat in cross section. The cross sectional area of the reservoir is larger than that of the tube, the ratio being an integer greater than one, and the ratio of the divisions on the scales on the reservoir and on one of the movable tapes is spaced in inverse ratio. The rod carries a movable guide which can be set to different positions to enable an operator to indicate positions at predetermined levels.
Abstract: A clamp having two cooperating elements, one element carrying a pair of opposed stub shafts and the other element having a pair of channeled bearings receiving the shafts. A coiled tension spring engages a first stud mounted on the stub shaft carrying element and a second stud or other part on the handle of the bearing carrying element, whereby the spring is effective to (1) urge the jaws of the clamp toward their closed position, and (2) maintain the two elements in assembled relation.
