    Abstract: A connection is established by transmitting and receiving protocol data between two face-to-face apparatuses to prevent a timer count from being started due to a detection of error if variables are not coincident in SAAL. On this occasion, if the transmitting side apparatus is restarted, this restart is judged, and a variable possessed by the transmitting side apparatus is initialized. The protocol data is stored with information indicating the restart and transmitted to the receiving side apparatus. The receiving side apparatus, upon receiving the protocol data, initializes a variable possessed by the receiving side apparatus based on the restart information. The receiving apparatus can promptly enter a restart sequence without collating with other variables by storing the protocol data with the information showing the restart. The restart can be executed without being restricted by a stopping time of a timer.

    Abstract: DC components are removed by a first and a second capacitor from a normal signal and its inverted signal from a first and a second input terminal, and the signals are input to a DC level generating circuit. The DC level generating circuit newly adds a DC component to the respective signals from which the DC components are removed by the first and the second capacitors, and extracts only a DC voltage from a feedback voltage with a low-pass filter using the fist and the second capacitors. The circuit of the DC level generating circuit which includes the low-pass filter using the first and the second capacitors is configured so that a high-frequency cut-off frequency other than that included into a loop gain by the low-pass filter is not included. Consequently, only one high-frequency cut-off frequency exists in the loop gain, thereby preventing a feedback circuit from oscillating.

A second estimated value of the propagation characteristic is estimated by using the pilot symbol and at lease one of the tentatively determined data symbols. The data symbols are finally determined based on the second estimated value of the propagation characteristic.
