Abstract: A message protocol on a communication network between an originating and terminating communication device transmits the cost and quality of service impact of selecting a CODEC standard where no single CODEC is supported in the end-to-end packet transmission. Each call agent server on the communication generates and submits a session initiation protocol (SIP) message containing a data element for the additional cost and a data element for the additional total quality of service degradation, calculating the additions considering all prior calculated data elements. The data elements are part of the session description protocol message. Either the final server prior to the terminating communication device or the terminating communication device operates an algorithm to make an optimal selection and avoid unnecessary high cost or degraded quality of service. The selected CODEC standard is communicated back to the servers in an SIP response message.

Abstract: A method for determining the concentration of factor VIIa-antithrombin complexes is disclosed which has application to estimating the level of intravascular exposure of tissue factor, assessing patient risk for hypercoagulation or other coagulopathies, and monitoring patients for factor VIIa-antithrombin complexes over time which can reveal changes in risk for hypercoagulation or other coagulopathies and/or effectiveness of anticoagulant therapy. Antibodies suitable for use in an in vitro assay for determining the concentration of factor VIIa-antithrombin complexes and methods for making the same are also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention supports account monitoring for a mobile node by a home agent communicating with an AAA server computer. The home agent maintains accounting attribute information on system usage by a mobile node on a network. Attribute information is maintained and metered on the home agent in a data table. The home agent generates and transmits accounting messages containing the accounting attributes to the AAA server computer. The AAA server computer stores the attribute information in a memory for later billing.

Abstract: The present invention supports a secure transmissions protocol for information packet transmission between a Mobile Node and a Foreign Agent. The information packets are encrypted and decrypted using an integrated software client that combines mobile IP communication support and encrypting and decrypting protocols.

Abstract: The invention is a riding floor polishing and grinding machine that uses one or more gangs of polishing heads (242) to treat concrete and similar surface flooring (208). A compact vehicle (210) equipped with a front loader arm (235) is fitted with a module (240) containing the gang(s) of polishing head. The vehicle (210) is capable of raising and rotating the module to easily change the pads attached to the polishing heads. Each polishing head is individually powered by a motor and floats over the floor surface. The pads attached to the polishing heads can be of many different types, preferably diamond-impregnated polishing pads. The invention enables operator to more quickly and efficiently remove material from a floor surface. The design also enables gangs of pads to be mounted with different grit ratings to perform different treatment operations using a single machine in a single pass over a floor surface.

Abstract: The present invention supports a generalized link-layer address extension for an information packet transmission on an IP mobility system. In the invention, a link-layer address for a node can be communicated in any information packet rather than confined to a specialized message format. The link-layer address can be used in link-layer routing protocols to simplify mobile IP hand-offs and routing, reducing overhead data traffic and allowing more efficient use of network resources.

Abstract: A non-dehiscent sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) designated Sesaco 29 (S29) has been found. Its degree of shatter resistance, or seed retention, makes S29 suitable for mechanized harvesting.

Abstract: A light-weight armor system for retrofitting onto light vehicles, such as HMMWVs, trucks, or helicopters, or incorporating into a vehicle to protect against HEAT or high explosive warheads. The armor system comprises multiple layers of a thin metal film. The front side of the thin metal sheet facing away from the vehicle is coated with a layer of zirconium nanoparticles and imprinted with a network of hollow packets filled with water and sealed. The back side of the thin metal sheet is coated with a layer of potassium bicarbonate powder. The multiple layers of metal film are imbedded in a matrix of composite foam to form a honeycomb structure that can be retrofitted onto light vehicles or used in new designs.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing propulsion to naval vehicles by using one or more suspended belt drives to consistently engage the water proximate to the surface using a variety of belts with multiple attachments, tires, or variable lugs. The drive belt system incorporates the use of a linear air bearing surface to minimize the belt friction of the drives. This invention also involves the use of open-bottomed enclosures to insulate the propulsion system from adverse water conditions that might otherwise prevent the belt drives from consistently and efficiently engaging the water.

Abstract: It has now been found that N-L-alpha-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine 1-methyl ester (APM) and/or one of its lower alkyl derivatives can be used to treat allergic contact dermatitis associated with irritating oils such as catechol-containing plant-derived antigens such as poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac and Asian lacquer tree and oils containing capsaicin. Topical application of APM and/or derivative can reduce or alleviate the symptoms associated with irritation of the skin and/or mucous membranes caused by contact or inhalation of these oils or fumes from burning vegetation containing these oils.

Abstract: A portable misting system is disclosed for producing mist atomization in remote locations with or without pressurized water supplies. The system comprises an airtight water reservoir pressurized during filling by a pressurized water supply source. In the absence of a pressurized water supply, the system may be pressurized manually using an integrated pump. A flexible fluid conduit constructed from interlocking segments forming resilient ball-joints connections is used to manually position a nozzle in a desired orientation. The nozzle produces an atomized mist of water that will cool the area proximate to the nozzle. Water flow thought the nozzle is controlled with a control valve coupled between the flexible fluid conduit and the nozzle proximate to the nozzle. A locking adaptor connects the flexible fluid conduit to the control valve.

Abstract: The invention provides for an improved method and system of registration and hand-off procedures for a mobile node in a packet-based communication network. The present invention obtains expanded addresses over past systems. The invention can also use serving mobility managers to obtain a care-of address to route data-packets while on the foreign sub-network. The invention improves efficiency and reduces message overhead during registration and hand-off.

Deallocation of a mobile node's IP address during a multipart communication session on a foreign network can cause serious communication and accounting errors. The new message format and protocol should eliminate the premature deallocation of a mobile node's IP address, which should reduce associated communication and accounting errors.

Abstract: An improved wireless mobile IP system including an apparatus and method for managing transmission of information. Agent advertisements are used to detect movement of the mobile node and derive care-of addressing information for the Home Agent. Foreign Agents and Home Agents currently periodically broadcast an agent advertisement on the data channel. The claimed system reduces the need for agent advertisements by detecting movement of a mobile user into a new network using either the mobile node or a routine on a low-level protocol layer. After detection of movement, an agent solicitation message is transmitted from the mobile node or from the cell-site transmitter. The mobility agent then transmits a single agent advertisement in response. Derived care-of addressing information will then be registered with the Home Agent to support “tunneling” of communications to the mobile node through the foreign network.

Abstract: In an IP-based mobile communications system, the Mobile Node changes its point of attachment to the network while maintaining network connectivity. Security concerns arise in the mobile system because authorized users are subject to the following forms of attack: (1) session stealing where a hostile node hijacks session from mobile node by redirecting packets, (2) spoofing where the identity of an authorized user is utilized in an unauthorized manner to obtain access to the network, and (3) eavesdropping and stealing of data during session with authorized user. No separate secure network exists in the IP-based mobility communications system, and therefore, it is necessary to protect information transmitted in the mobile system from the above-identified security attacks.

Abstract: The present invention supports a message protocol on a wireless communication network between the access gateway and the proxy session initiation server. Upon disruption of a communication session with a mobile station, an information packet indication disruption of the communication session is transmitted from the access gateway to the proxy session initiation protocol server. Upon receipt of the information packet, the proxy session initiation server initiates a resource release procedure freeing network resources supporting the communication session. The proxy session initiation server releases the resources and transmits an information packet to the serving session initiation server, which also initiates a release procedure. Answer and acknowledgement messages are also sent in response to the release request and/or the release of resources.

Abstract: A computer database stores information on inventory product items and associated disposition instructions for unsold product. A field representative at a retail store location processes product items for disposition according to the disposition instructions maintained on the master database. Disposition instructions include destroy, donate, or special handling instructions. The field representative processes unsold product items using a data collection device that includes a data input interface and a communication interface to update the database and track unsold product items remaining in inventory. The database is updated using the input product item, and disposition instructions stored on the master database are displayed on the data collection device for implementation for each scanned product item. At the end of the visit, a credit memo is provided to the retail store for translation into a cash credit or check.
