  • Patent number: 5678617
Abstract: This invention involves a Jumping Drink Bar Device. This document discloses a novelty device for installation in a bar or counter whereby when a patron orders a specific drink the bartender or host places a drinking glass upon a designated location on top of the bar and, unknown to the patron, activates a hidden control. The drink then seems to hop from some remote spot on the bar and take one or more leaps, ultimately landing in the patron's glass.

  • Patent number: 5641120
Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, liquid material enters circumferencially into a generally cylindrical outer walled chamber. A baffle may be provided to facilitate circumferencial flow. The tangential, circumferencial flow tends to reduce turbulence. In the outer chamber a top wall is provided and a cushion of air is located between the top wall and the top of the liquid medium to effect cushioning. After circumferencial flow, the liquid flows radially inwardly into an inner fluid chamber through a plurality of openings in an inner cylindrical wall. Within the inner chamber and spaced between the bottom wall and the top wall is a diffuser section. The diffuser section provides a large plurality of parallel fluid flow paths to dampen remaining major currents by lowering the fluid velocity and thus the Reynolds number. The upper surface is arcuate. Thus fluid flows radially upwardly and inwardly to a knife-edged type orifice which results in laminar fluid flow exiting therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5568750
Abstract: The tool 10 of the present invention includes in its mid-portion a handle or gripping portion 12. Extending outwardly in opposite directions from the gripping portion are a pair of spaced transition portions 14 and 16 each respectively terminating in a pair of tapered portions 18 and 19. The tapered portions 18 and 19 extend to a box engagement portion at each end 20 and 22. Each box engagement portion includes a transversely extending tapered portion 24 and 26 each of which terminates in a respective edge 28 and 29, and respective hook portions 30 and 32. It will be apparent that the transverse portion 20 is smaller than the transverse portion 22 to allow opening of smaller boxes with the end where transverse portion 20 is located.

  • Patent number: 5503149
Abstract: A computer system receives two dimensional image data of a heart or other organ to be simulated in three dimensions. It also receives chemical composition data of the heart or other organ, and chemical composition data other parts of the body. These data are put in the computer memory. Then a "Voxel View.TM." or three dimensional volume rendering program forms images of the organ to be studied. For example, with the heart it generates images of the atria and ventricle. Diagnostic data obtained from a patient conveniently with electrical measurement signals including an electrocardiagram, electromyogram, electroencephalogram, and other diagnostic measured electrical signals obtained from a patient are fed into the system and are placed in computer memory. Arthroscopic and/or laproscopic data obtained from a lens located inside the body of portions of organs of the body of the patient may be inputted as diagnostic data and processed with a "PowerScene.TM." program.

  • Patent number: 5495568
Abstract: A computer system receives data describing fabric characteristics such as weave pattern, frictional characteristics, average fibers per strand, strand wear characteristics, and elasticity. Fabric colors and patterns are also inputs. Data describing an individual's physical characteristics such as dimensions and complexion are input into the computer system's memory. Digitized photographs of an individual may be mapped over a three dimensional image tailored to that individual's dimensions. Garment models are placed over the three dimensional images, which reflect the inputted fabric characteristics and color patterns. The fit is tailored to match the three dimensional model, and shown graphically on the computer display device. The three dimensional model moves as the individual would move, such as raising the arms, bending, walking, or running.

  • Patent number: 5468170
Abstract: In the present invention, a Collector's Model Disintegrator Pistol (CMDP) is formed from a pair of fight side and left side metal castings according to the investment or "lost wax" casting process. Preferably the left and right hand pistol sections are formed of suitable ornamental bronze, with a wide variety of possible bronze compositions being usable, depending upon cost and desirability of a particular finish. The bronze left and right sections are held together with counter sunk-screws instead of the crimped projections according to the construction made of U.S. Pat. No. 2,077,763. Additionally the U-shaped guide assembly of the '763 patent is eliminated and a trigger guide assembly is contoured into the cast left and right sections of the pistol to make construction simpler and less expensive.

  • Patent number: 5464139
Abstract: A CADDY CLIP.TM. (10) is described to enable a golfer to carry a club with him when he is chipping and putting around the green. The CADDY CLIP (10) includes a U-shaped portion (12) having a leg (14) which extends inside the golfer's belt. The leg (14) extends a significant distance parallel and in contact with the golfer's belt and includes a bend (16) to facilitate gripping and holding the clip in place on the golfer's belt. An arcuate portion (18) extends over the golfer's belt and a second leg 19 extends downwardly for a distance of about one to two inches. A fastener (20) holds in place a lower depending leg (21), extending downwardly from U-shaped member (12). This is a safety feature for the golfer whereby if the golfer trips either with a club in the device or if the CADDY CLIP is empty, the leg (20) can pivot and avoid harming the golfer in the event of a fall.

  • Patent number: 5370539
Abstract: A chord or scale indicating device includes at least one fixed member and at least one movable member. On one of the fixed or movable members a scale is provided of at least one octave including both the white and black notes of the octave. In this octave, the white notes A, G and D, are greater in transverse or radial extent than the white notes E, F, B, and C by a factor of about 1.5. The other of the fixed and movable members includes a series of indicating positions which indicate at least one scale or chord position for a given input key. Relative movement between the fixed and the movable member will enable the scale and or chord positions to be determined for each of the notes in the ocatve by such relative movement.

  • Patent number: 5072540
Abstract: The invention provides a fishing lure useful for measuring water temperature at a certain depth. The lure includes a temperature sensing part embedded in an insualting matrix part which provides a useful heat flow pattern. After being exposed to water of a certain temperature the temperature sensing part will thermally equilibrate to that temperature after a period of time. The device will then hold this temperature reading even while being briefly exposed to mediums of different temperatures, such as exposing the lure to air or water of varying temperature, and will allow accurate readings of the original temperature. The fishing lure appears to exploit the difference in thermal conductivities of air versus other media, such as water or slurries.

  • Patent number: 5012592
Abstract: A fastener dimension measuring machine is disclosed including a rotatable plate containing a series of openings in the plate of different sizes and diameters to allow insertion of a wide variety of different size and shaped fasteners. Flat head protrusion, outside diameters, head heights, lengths and tolerance compliance may be measured in the machine. A measuring member is located above the plate, and is movable vertically between a fastener measuring and a fastener insertion or removal position. The measuring member is manually movable laterally relative to the plate to the measuring position, and is electrically connected to a digital recording member, which records and displays the measurements made. A foot pedal is provided to activate recording of the data, which then may be printed out in a desired manner.
