  • Patent number: 4035343
Abstract: Permanently flame-resistant synthetic linear polyesters are obtained by irporating by condensation into the polyester composed of the usual dicarboxylic acid and diol units an alkylphosphine oxide of the formula ##SPC1##Wherein the radicals R to R.sub.4 represent organic radicals of which R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and Z may be substituted by 2 hydroxyl groups altogether, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 may also represent hydrogen and a is zero or a whole number of from 1 to 4. The flame-resistant polyesters are processed into shaped structures such as fibers, filaments, sheets, injection and compression molded articles characterized by good flameproofness and dyeing properties.

  • Patent number: 3951963
Abstract: Novel 0-(dialkylaminoalkyl)-1-alkyl-5-nitroimidazole-(2)-aldoximes are described as well as their manufacture and use for treating protozoal diseases. The novel compounds correspond to the general formula ##SPC1##In which R.sup.1 stand for a hydrogen atom, a methyl, ethyl or hydroxyethyl group, Z stands for a linear or branched alkylene chain of 2 to 3 carbon atoms, and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each stands for an identical or different lower alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or the group --NR.sup.2 R.sup.3 can be part of a saturated heterocyclic ring which may contain further substituents preferably a methyl group or/and hetero atoms, such as, especially the pyrrolidine, piperidine, morpholine, thiamorpholine, tetrahydro-1,4-thiazine-1,1-dioxide and piperazine ring, and HX can be a non-toxic, physiologically acceptable acid.
