Abstract: A system for the flexographic printing of compact discs is provided in which the transport member for the compact discs travels in an oval-shaped path. The transport member is made up of individual segments connected together so that each end can be pivoted on a vertical axis. These individual segments are provided with top and bottom rollers that are engaged by a sprocket drive. A support member for a compact disc tooling fixture is attached to each of the individual segments. The flexographic print heads are caused to move at the same rate as the transport member for the compact discs by a rack segment that is provided on each of the support members attached to an individual segment of the transport member and which meshes with a toothed gear on a print head. The flexographic print heads can be moved laterally and radially to provide registration of the decoration to be printed on the compact disc supported by a particular tooling fixture for the compact disc.

Abstract: An apparatus and process for the manufacture of silk-screens is provided for use in the printing of halftones, e.g. in a four color printing process. The angle at which the mesh of a silk-screen should be relative to the screen frame to eliminate or at least minimize or localize moire' is predetermined for each of the color film separations. This angle is then carried to stretching apparatus for the woven fabric from which the silk-screens are to be made. The stretching appararatus has a table that is provided with a plurality of rotatable members. A screen frame is placed on each of the rotatable members and the rotable member is rotated to the angle determined by the pre-registration apparatus. The fabric is stretched to the desired tension and the screen frames having been provided at the desired angles are adhered to the stretched fabric, resulting in the mesh in each silk-screen being at the correct angle with respect to the screen frame.

Abstract: Apparatus is provided for the cleaning of the downwardly extending pendants and swags of beads of a chandelier in situ by ultrasonic cavitation. The cleaning apparatus is provided with a top member detachably connected to a bottom member. The bottom member can be of one size and configuration and be interchangeable with top members of various sizes and configurations. Apparatus is also provided for lifting the ultrasonic cleaning apparatus vertically upwardly to locate the cleaning apparatus for the cleaning of certain preselected chandelier pendants or swags, holding the cleaning apparatus in that position while the pendants or swags are being subjected to ultrasonic energy, and then lowering the cleaning apparatus vertically downwardly so that the cleaning apparatus can be repositioned for the ultrasonic cleaning of further preselected pendants and swags.

The ink cup is caused to move lengthwise of the image and the movement of the image transfer pad is in a direction perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the image.

Abstract: Openings such as those for attic staircases may be covered with a multipocket member having top, side, and end pockets in which insulation can be placed. The side pockets are of longer length than the top pocket. When the side and end pockets are pivoted downwardly from the top pocket and provided in box-like configuration, the insulation at the pivot edges is compressed thereby filling up these edges.
Abstract: Apparatus combination and system for reducing use of fresh water in a photoprocessing operation by recirculation of the wash water to the photoprocessing operation via a silver recovery system. Wash water is periodically discharged to waste and a like amount of fresh water is added to the system which serves to reduce the concentration of thiosulfate ions in the wash water.
Abstract: A print head for silk-screen printing apparatus is provided. The silk-screen frame and squeegee of the print head are fixedly connected together to provide that the two move together in rotational manner. Thus, the squeegee can be made to always print across the square-shaped mesh of the woven screen rather than across diamond-shaped mesh whereby to eliminate or at least minimize or localize moire. The silk-screen frame and squeegee can be rotated together to a predetermined angle or degree, in advance of the printing of a particular color in the silk-screen printing of halftones.

Abstract: A fixture is provided for the holding of a compact disc on a transport member for transportation of the disc to one or more work stations such as a silk-screen printing station. The fixture has a top member in which is provided a circular-shaped opening detachably connected to a base member. The base member is secured to the transport member. When the base member and top member are in combination with one another, the circular-shaped opening provides a well for the compact disc. Magnets are located in the base member to detachably hold the top member in contact with the base member.
