Abstract: An arrangement for the control of movement of documents to an output device such as a printer or a copier in such a manner that the document draw-in rate automatically matches the document output rate. A document intake channel forces the incoming document into a curvature transversely to the direction of the transport of the documents, whereby the degree of curvature of the documents is a function of any tensile force on the documents. A sensor includes an analog and continuous output signal to affect a continuous change of the driving frequency for a motor causing the movement of the documents as a function of the actuation of the sensor.

Abstract: The device is disposed above an office machine stacking tray and stores circular divider films in a magazine. The divider films are selectively output singly from the magazine and deposited between successive sheet groups in the stacking tray to separate and identify the sheet groups.

Abstract: The dental handpiece attachment includes a housing defining a dental handpiece receiving portion and a central portion. A receiving opening in the receiving portion is in fluid communication with a cavity in the central portion to receive a drive mechanism responsive to a dental handpiece. A rotatable prophy cup assembly having a passageway therethrough is disposed at a prophy paste dispensing opening of the central portion cavity to enable a given amount of prophy paste sufficient for a single application, and stored within the housing, to be dispensed through the passageway and applied to the teeth. An actuator mechanism disposed within the receiving portion cooperates with a dental handpiece to urge the stored prophy paste out of the housing when the handpiece is received within the receiving portion.

Abstract: A computer implemented method for fitting golf clubs for golfers to accommodate the swing behavior of an individual's golf swing using combinatorial logic at both the global and local levels. Specifications for a full set of golf clubs are derived from the intersection of two models labeled FITMODEL and SPECPRO. Input data is first gathered (204) and normalized (206) based upon chosen parameters. The chosen parameter relationships are analyzed (208) by FITMODEL, which in turn prescribes specifications (214) for a single reference golf club, preferably a mid-set club such as the 6-iron. SPECPRO uses the chosen parameters to analyze and generate inference (210) expressed as gradient functions--the incremental differences between each club. The gradients are used to specify (222) a full set of clubs.

Abstract: An arrangement is described for the gathered collection of sheets of a recording medium, which are output by a recording device. The sheets are collected sequentially on the periphery of a drum. In the periphery of the drum is provided a depression in which drivable transport rollers are disposed. The transport rollers cooperate with pressing rollers which can be swiveled against the transport rollers. The transport rollers and the pressing rollers serve, on the one hand, for clamping the gathered sheets against the drum and, on the other hand, for ejecting the gathered bundle.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for improving the Single Event Latchup (SEL) performance of an integrated circuit device (IC), or grouping of devices (as an example Multi-Chip Modules or MCMs), through the addition of active electronic circuitry integrated within the IC or MCM package. This circuitry and the protected device can be incorporated within the same physical dimensions and electrical configuration as the original integrated circuit device. The circuitry turns a destructive Latchup of a device into a recoverable event, allowing electronic devices that where unsuitable for the space environment due to SEL to be useable in the space environment.

Abstract: An inventive exercise device is disclosed for facilitating the strengthening of abdominal and back muscles, and includes a resistance member coupled between a lap engageable base and an arm positioning member. The arm positioning member helps to maintain the back of the user in a substantially upright position as the arm positioning member applies and releases reciprocatively and alternatingly in a substantially vertical path of travel of the upper body of the user against the force on the resistance member during repetitions of use of the device. The resistance member resists substantially vertical downward movement relative to the base member to enhance the development of muscle strength by enabling the upper body of the user to contract and expand reciprocatively vertically without leaning forwardly in a safe and effective manner.

Abstract: The blister pack has a reusable container mounted to a display card in a tamper resistant manner. The reusable container has a tray and a lid with the tray having frangible flanges thereon which are sealed to a presentation side of the display card. The lid has a deep channel which is received frictionally into the tray for securely closing the reusable container. Both the lid and the tray have enlarged finger engageable pull tabs for ease of opening the reusable container.

Abstract: An antenna mast and method of using it relate to a retractable mast having a retractable mast having a plurality of tubular telescoping sections to enable the mast to move between a fully retracted storage position and a fully extended use position. Each section is equipped with a thermoplastic bearing to facility rapid deployment. Pairs of diametrically opposed pulley mechanisms are mounted on opposite sides of each one of the sections, and the pairs of pulleys are angularly displaced from section to section for facilitating the structural stability of the deployed mast.

Abstract: The body jewelry device has a post part and cap part with the cap part having an integral and threaded stub. The post part has an integrally formed and complementary threaded bore for receiving the threaded stud. The cap part post is thereby securely, but releasably, coupled to the post part. In a preferred embodiment, the cap has a counter sink for receiving an end of the post. The cap for the body jewelry may be formed by shaping a stock material into a generally enlarged ornamental piece. A stub is integrally formed on the generally enlarged shape and threads formed on the stub. A counter sink may be formed around the stub for receiving an end of the post. The stub threads are constructed to threadably mate with an opposing and complementary bore on a post.

Abstract: A wiring board construction includes at least one microvia disposed in a base substrate and includes a deep imprinted cup shaped recess in the top surface thereof. A conductor material is disposed within the recess, and has a portion disposed at the bottom thereof. A conductor disposed at a bottom surface of the substrate opposite to the conductor material bottom portion helps to complete an electrically conductor path through the substrate to help complete an electrically conductive path through the substrate.

Abstract: A display panel image stabilization method and apparatus includes enabling a user to adjust both the pixel clock pulses and the synchronization for the display panel simultaneously by a single control. The synchronization is adjusted in a stepwise manner through a given number of steps for a particular number of clock pulses. The image is observed by the user to determine whether or not the noise stripes are being eliminated. The stepwise adjustment of the synchronization is repeated for another particular number of clock pulses if the noise stripes are not being eliminated. Once all of the stripes have been eliminated from the image, both the synchronization and the pixel clock pulses are properly adjusted to stabilize the image.

Abstract: An improved golf club head incorporating a lattice structure covered by a thin-walled body. The aerodynamically shaped golf club head has a lattice structure formed by an outer ring, curved longitudinal frame elements, and curved latitudinal frame elements. A generally flat shaped ball striking face is formed at one end of the lattice structure. The ball striking face is generally parallelogram shaped and results in a larger and more desirably oriented "sweet spot." The thin-walled body covering the lattice structure defines a cavity, and has a top, a bottom, a toe end, a heel end, and a tail end. The ball striking face extends between the top and the bottom of the thin-walled body at an angle with respect to the vertical. A hosel extends generally upwardly from the heel end of the thin-walled body. Alternative internal energy absorbing and distributing structures, in addition to the lattice structure, are also part of the invention.

A transmission system is coupled electrically to each one of the meters for sending meter readings periodically to a remotely located equipment.

Abstract: Bipolarity current-activated windings of powerful stepping motors for high step frequencies are to be indexed such that for each load condition the optimum motor torque is attained. The circuit configuration according to the invention comprises for this purpose chopped power output stages ((1, 2)) which are each activated by direction-dependent logic phase signals (PH12, PH34) of a signal generator (3) for the current feed into the motor windings of the stepping motor drive. Via a chopper pulse weighting circuit (4.2) winding indexing signals are supplied to the signal generator (3). To the chopper pulse weighting circuit (1,2) are supplied logic chopper signals (CH12, CH34) which can be tapped at the power output stages ((1, 2)) at the output side, and a device (7,14) connected to the chopper pulse weighting circuit (4.2) ensures that always only that chopper signal (CH12 CH34) is conducted to the chopper pulse weighting circuit (4.2), which is decisive for the next winding switch-over.

Abstract: The sheet presenter includes a housing having a feed path therethrough from a feed end to a presenting end, and which defines an escrow area between the feed end and the presenting end. Presenting rollers at the presenting end initially restrain forward movement of a continuous sheet along the feed path, and cooperate with a gate to divert the sheet from the feed path into the escrow area to enable the sheet to be accumulated in the escrow area as the sheet is being imprinted. Subsequently, the presenting rollers urge the imprinted portion of the sheet out of the escrow area to present the imprinted portion. The presenting rollers are de-clutched to allow the recipient to grab the imprinted portion and pull it out without damaging the mechanism or the remaining sheet.

Abstract: The golf club construction includes a club head, an interchangeable shaft, and a hosel having a hosel bore extending between an open distal end and a closed end, and an alignment arrangement including an element thereof disposed at the closed end. A sleeve secured on the shaft end forms another alignment arrangement element and is adapted to be received within the bore to engage the alignment element therein. A capture mechanism disposed on the shaft engages the hosel at about the open end portion to fix releaseably the shaft relative to the club head.

Abstract: A multiple user computerized clinical care system and method of using it, include the use of a group of terminals communicating with a central computer system for sending and receiving patient information for storage and retrieval purposes. The system and method includes managing patient information variance requests, by storing the variance information in the order in which the variance requests are received. The terminals are then supplied with the stored variance information to enable the terminals of the computer system to receive current updated patient information for a given patient substantially concurrently as the updated information is being entered at a plurality of the terminals, without causing any user to wait for the current variance information.

Abstract: The image composition system includes a display device coupled to a central processing device for displaying a user selected image. A camera coupled to the central processing device enables a real subject to be incorporated into the user selected image. Accessory items are stored in a memory device coupled to the central processing unit for combining with the subject in the user selected image.
