Abstract: A conveyor assembly includes a support structure for a belt constructed of interlocking segments. The support structure includes straight segments that may be cut to any desired length. These straight segments are joined using a friction-fit connector. The connector does not require any drilling or other modifications to the straight segments. The straight segments may be constructed from a single sheet of stainless steel. The conveyor assembly may also include support arms, legs and other accessories.
Abstract: Degradable polyimides are prepared in high yield by polymerizing a monomer containing at least two anhydride groups, and a monomer containing at least two primary amine groups and at least one acidic group, in bulk or in a solvent. The polyimides are very strong in terms of their mechanical properties, yet degradable under standard physiological conditions.

Abstract: A control apparatus for a kite powered conveyance device. Port and starboard kite leads (28,32) and/or port and starboard kite control lines (30, 36) connect ends of a control bar (26, 26?) to port and starboard ends of a kite (12). A tether guide (34, 34?, 34?) is connected to one end of the control bar (26) or to one of the kite leads (28, 32). A harness (12) with a spreader bar (18) is adapted to be worn by a user of the kite powered conveyance device. An arm (20, 20?) is connected to the spreader bar (18). A tether connector (42, 42?) and a hook (22, 22?) are rotatably mounted on the arm (20, 20?) for rotation about the longitudinal axis of the arm (20, 20?). The hook (22, 22?) is hooked to the control bar (26, 26?) to connect the control bar (26, 26?) to the spreader bar (18). A tether (38) passes through the tether guide (34, 34?, 34?) and has its first end connected to the tether connector (42, 42?) and its second end connected to one of the Kite control lines (30, 36).
Abstract: A fiber optic array is miniaturized in a configuration that includes an input collimator, a first birefringence crystal, a waveplate, a Faraday rotator, a second birefringence crystal and a second collimator. The elements are aligned along a common optical axis. A light beam along the optical axis that is passed through the first collimator emerges off of the optical axis and through the remaining elements. It re-emerges from the fiber optic array on axis. The configuration provides substantial attenuation in a backward direction.

Abstract: A method for inhibiting angiogenesis, including: administering a nucleoside, such as tunicamycin, in an amount effective to inhibit angiogenesis, to a patient in need of such treatment. A method for inhibiting angiogenesis, including: administering a nucleoside, which comprises glucosamine, in an amount effective to inhibit angiogenesis, to a patient in need of such treatment; wherein the nucleoside is administered for a period of time, subsequently the administration of the nucleoside is suspended for a period of time of at least about 1 week, and subsequently the administration of the nucleoside is resumed.
Abstract: A method and system to capture kinetic energy of the sea waves and convert it to electrical power is presented. The hydrodynamic power of the waves is converted to mechanical power after impacting and moving a special panel. The mechanical power is converted into a controlled-cycle hydraulic power to activate a hydraulic motor, which in turn activates an electrical generator. Electrical power is then measured, controlled and distributed to a power grid or end users.
Abstract: A computer especially suitable for use as a video-based security system includes video inputs, a processor and a network connection. The video inputs are each configured to receive an electronic video signal from a video camera. The processor operates on a digital representation of the electronic video signals from the video inputs. When the computer detects motion in the electronic video signals it generates a compressed representation of the video signal that includes the motion. The compressed representation is transmitted through the network connection.

Abstract: A method is described for making a frozen French fry-style food product, having from about 50.0% to about 70.0% moisture, from about 4.0% to about 8.0% protein, from about 2.5% to about 5.0% fat, and from about 0.25% to about 0.50% fibers, in addition to calcium and phosphorous sources. This frozen potato-based product is made from a composition comprising steam peeled and cooked whole raw potatoes, soaked or cooked whole beans processed and mixed with the peeled cooked potatoes to create a dough-like consistency to which proteinaceous flours, starchy flours, vegetable oil, and other additives are added and blended into a homogeneous potato-based dough. The homogeneous potato-based dough is extruded into a rope-like extrudate, which is partially steam-cooked and then immediately cooled. The cold rope-like extrudate is cut into uniform small rods, 2.5 inches long, which are packaged and stored under blast freezing conditions.

Abstract: An uninterruptible D.C. battery backup power supply is designed to operate medical respiratory treatment equipment such as a machine for the treatment of sleep apnea. A power supply with D.C. backup consists of a rectifier/charger, a rechargeable battery and a D.C.-to-D.C. converter. The rectifier/charger is connected to the wall outlet providing the D.C. charging capacity as well as the capacity to provide power to the D.C.-to-D.C. converter which provides D.C. power to the equipment being protected during a momentary interruption in the A.C. commercial voltage or a prolonged power outage.
Abstract: A floating strainer is constructed having a rectangular frame. A cylindrical drum is attached to each corner of the rectangular frame. Below the rectangular frame, a box-strainer is fixed. The distance between the box-strainer and the rectangular frame is adjustable so that the level at which water is drawn can be raised or lowered. The bottom of the box-strainer includes hose connections. These are positioned so that the hoses connect at the bottom of the floating strainer and extend vertically down from the bottom. This configuration operates to distribute the weight of the hose and reduce stress and strain on the hose.
Abstract: A bra support cup is made using two layers of foam. The outer layer has grooves along its inner surface. These are used to hold plastic ribs. The inner layer is bonded to the inner surface of the outer layer to hold the plastic ribs in place.
Abstract: A door stop is attached to a wall at the same height as a doorknob. When the door is swung into an open position, the door stop is lifted. The doorknob passes under the door stop, which is then dropped so that it rests on the axel connecting the doorknob to the door. This operates to hold the door in place.
Abstract: A housing for a light socket is made of stamped metal. It has a tubular shell that surrounds the light socket. A cap covers the bottom of the tubular shell. A threaded ring engages the bottom of the tubular shell and holds the cap in place. The shell and cap are made of stamped metal.
Abstract: A concrete-based mortar is prepared for application on the exterior of a concrete building or other structure. The drying time of the concrete-based mortar is reduced by addition of an accelerant compound. After the concrete-based mortar sets on the building or other structure, an exterior portion of the concrete-based mortar is removed. This provides an even and attractive surface.
Abstract: Preferred compositions used to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi and yeast include perillyl aldehyde as an active ingredient. Other active ingredients include perillyl alcohol. The compositions are formed as gels, creams, liquids and dry formulations.

Abstract: A table game has a center piece and a plurality of end pieces that removably attach to the center piece. Each player has chips and takes turns depositing the chips in the end pieces around the board. When the last deposit made by a player makes a special color combination with previous deposits in an end piece, the player may continue his or her turn in the opposite direction. This is a round trip. If the player deposits a single chip in his or her end piece at the end of a turn, the player may capture that chip. This is a trap.

Abstract: A switch operates between a first and a second position which selectively connects a load to a first and a second power supply. The connections are made by sliding one or more rods along their axis. The ends of the rods fit within channels to form electrical contact with the first and second power supply.
Abstract: A novel and efficient alkylation procedure of B—H-1,3,2-oxazaborolidines derived from ephedrine and norephedrine has been established. Representative B-butyl- and B-methyl-1,3,2-oxazaborolidines were prepared in good yield and excellent purity by one pot treatment of the parent boraheterocyclic compound with the corresponding organolithium reagent and subsequent hydrolysis of the cyclic borohydride with anhydrous ammonium chloride.
