Abstract: A method for updating voicemail data at least partially stored at a device (30) can include obtaining a command to update the voicemail data at a device (30). The device (30) can activate a data session through which voicemail data can be downloaded to the device (30). In some embodiments, the device (30) can automatically activate a data session upon the occurrence of a trigger event, for example, upon the receipt of a message waiting indicator, or upon powering on the device (30). In other embodiments, the device (30) can wait for a user action or command to download voicemail data. The action or command can be received at the device after a trigger event, or at any other time. Exemplary devices (30) and communications networks (10) for implementing these and other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media provide for determining a plurality of turfs from where to reallocate a workforce to a given turf. According to embodiments, a method for determining a plurality of turfs from where to reallocate a workforce to a given turf is provided. According to the method, an indication of the given turf is received. Optimal turfs from where to reallocate technicians to the given turf are determined from a plurality of turfs. Visual cues for identifying at least a portion of the optimal turfs are generated.

Abstract: A computer system firmware stores an operating system boot loader along with accompanying firmware boot driver and a service option ROM. A firmware boot enables the computer system to initiate an operating system boot without necessarily utilizing a hard drive or other peripheral. The service option ROM is installed, indicating to the firmware that a firmware boot is available. When selected the firmware boot copies the operating system boot loader from firmware to main memory and then initiates the operating system boot loader.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer-readable medium for expediting initialization of a computing system are provided. According to one aspect of the invention, a computer-readable medium is provided having computer executable instructions stored thereon, which when executed by a computer, cause the computer to cache a portion of a firmware to a cache prior to initialization of a main memory. In particular, the computer-executable instructions cause the central processing unit of the computer to cache a range of memory addresses corresponding to the location of the portion of the firmware stored in a computer storage media to the cache prior to the initialization of the main memory. The firmware may be a BIOS and/or EFI firmware. The computer-executable instructions then cause the computer to execute the portion of the firmware from the cache until the main memory is initialized.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for providing additional yaw control to a multi-engine aircraft experiencing engine thrust asymmetry. A primary flight control system of the aircraft is configured to limit the operational thrust of an operating engine of the aircraft to provide additional yaw control when the aircraft is experiencing thrust asymmetry. The system includes a thrust limit module for calculating the maximum engine thrust limit to be imposed on an operating engine. The maximum engine thrust limit is calculated using inputs corresponding to the sideslip angle and the roll rate of the aircraft. The maximum engine thrust limit is imposed on the operating engine of the aircraft such that the operational thrust generated by the operating engine is limited to the maximum engine thrust limit. By reducing the operational thrust generated by the operating engine, the yawing caused by the thrust asymmetry is likely to be reduced.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for providing a bi-direction e-mail transport between a management (“CRM”) server computer and an e-mail server computer. An e-mail connector communicates with a CRM server computer to determine whether any e-mail messages are pending send at the CRM server computer. If any e-mail messages are pending send, the e-mail connector retrieves the e-mail messages from the CRM server computer. The e-mail connector then communicates with an e-mail server computer to send the retrieved e-mail messages to their intended recipients. The e-mail connector may also retrieve e-mail messages from the e-mail server computer and determine whether the e-mail messages are CRM related. If the e-mail messages are CRM related, the e-mail connector is operative to transmit the CRM-related e-mails to the CRM server.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods provide for the use of retractable aircraft wing tips to increase the wingspan of an aircraft to decrease drag and increase fuel efficiency. According to various embodiments, a flexible lifting envelope is attached to an outboard end of an aircraft wing. Upon receiving pressurized air, the flexible lifting envelope extends outward to a lift-producing configuration that extends the span of the aircraft wing to which it is attached. When deflated, the flexible lifting envelope retracts into a stowed configuration to decrease the wingspan of the aircraft to allow for parking at airport gates or to alleviate flight loads. Various implementations provide for a telescoping wing tip and for a rolled wing tip.

Methods provided by these tools may establish active communications with a first contact, and then received indications of secondary communications involving a second contact. These methods may then present user interfaces (UIs) that include representations of at least the secondary communications. Through the UIs, the methods may receive a selection of one of the secondary communications for an expedited response, and may receive input from the user that provides the expedited response to the secondary communication, while maintaining the active communication in an active state. These methods may provide the expedited response to the secondary communication, based upon the input received from the user.

Abstract: Methods and computer-readable media are provided herein for integrating enterprise search systems with proprietary back-end content store access control APIs. A declarative metadata model is utilized to create and store data defining a custom API exposed by a back-end content store for retrieving access rights for documents stored therein. A normalized API for obtaining access rights for a document is also exposed. When a call is made to the normalized API, the stored data is utilized to transform the call to the normalized API into a call to the custom API.

The alert tag may include an identifying alert identifying the initiating party associated with the first device. In response to determining that the initiating party associated with the first device is associated with the alert tag, the identifying alert is provided as the event alert on a second device.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed which relate to implementing location-based quality of service (QoS) for applications running over a mobile communications network. A user sets up one or more “geofenced area(s)” delimited by position coordinates and associated with their mobile computing device. Also associated with each geofenced area is a “QoS Profile” listing a plurality of requested QoS attributes for traffic going to/from the user's mobile computing device or specific applications running on his/her mobile computing device over the mobile communications network. When the user enters a particular geofenced area associated with their mobile computing device, the QoS Profile associated with that geofenced area is loaded as the active QoS Profile for the mobile computing device. Additionally, as part of their QoS Profiles, a user optionally sets up other conditions which trigger changes in requested QoS attributes for their traffic over the mobile communications network.
