Patent number: 6937706Abstract: A system and method for monitoring a telephone switching environment. In a preferred embodiment the system and method simultaneously monitor both an SMDR link and a real-time CTI link, gather information about calls from both sources, and combine gathered information into a single data model of the telephony activity. A server is provided which in a preferred embodiment comprises two main modules: a translation module and a message router module. Several translation modules can be used—one for each PBX interface or vendor API layer. The server accepts data from a PBX or similar equipment in a telephone switch environment, and can use both real-time CTI communications links and asynchronous information sources such as the Station Message Detail Recording (SMDR) interface. The server then translates and combines the various types of data into a unified, normalized format.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2001Date of Patent: August 30, 2005Assignee: Dictaphone CorporationInventors: Valerie Bscheider, David A. Patent number: 6922438Abstract: A system for MPSK symbol hypothesis testing. A received symbol having in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) components is input to the system. Multipliers for each of the components are determined corresponding to the MPSK symbol hypothesis s being tested. The symbol s is a quadrature symbol having in-phase and quadrature components, sI and sQ, respectively. The multipliers are each derived from fractions which approximate to a desired level of resolution either ±sI or ±sQ. The system multiplies the I and Q components by their respective multipliers through a discrete series of add, shift, and twos complement operations. It then derives a metric for testing the hypothesis from the resulting products.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2001Date of Patent: July 26, 2005Assignee: Conexant Systems, Inc.Inventor: Donald Brian Eidson

Patent number: 6920415Abstract: A method of trimming a mesh representation of an object surface comprising a tessellated mesh of polygons. A trim curve is projected onto the mesh representation to determine the trim area. Polygons within or intersecting the trim area are removed, and new polygons are introduced to attach the trimmed mesh to the trim curve projection. Detail data is formed for vertices of polygons near the trim curve, representing information about the object surface not present in the trimmed mesh representation. The detail data is applied to the vertices, thereby refining their locations. Any polygons near the trim curve which are outside a prescribed tolerance of the object surface are subdivided. The steps of forming and applying the detail data followed by the step of subdividing are iteratively performed until the trimmed mesh representation is within a prescribed tolerance of the object surface.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2001Date of Patent: July 19, 2005Assignee: California Institute of TechnologyInventors: Nathan Jacob Litke, Adi Levin, Peter Schroeder

Patent number: 6916605Abstract: A member of a specific binding pair (sbp) is identified by expressing DNA encoding a genetically diverse population of such sbp members in recombinant host cells in which the sbp members are displayed in functional form at the surface of a secreted recombinant genetic display package (rgdp) containing DNA encoding the sbp member or a polypeptide component thereof, by virtue of the sbp member or a polypeptide component thereof being expressed as a fusion with a capsid component of the rgdp. The displayed sbps may be selected by affinity with a complementary sbp member, and the DNA recovered from selected rgdps for expression of the selected sbp members. Antibody sbp members may be thus obtained, with the different chains thereof expressed, one fused to the capsid component and the other in free form for association with the fusion partner polypeptide. A phagemid may be used as an expression vector, with said capsid fusion helping to package the phagemid DNA.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 1998Date of Patent: July 12, 2005Assignees: Medical Research Council, Cambridge Antibody Technology LimitedInventors: John McCafferty, Anthony Richard Pope, Kevin Stuart Johnson, Hendricus Renerus Jacobus Mattheus Hoogenboom, Andrew David Griffiths, Ronald Henry Jackson, Kaspar Philipp Holliger, James David Marks, Timothy Piers Clackson, David John Chiswell, Gregory Paul Winter, Timothy Peter Bonnert

Patent number: 6912511Abstract: The present invention provides market participants the ability to infer the current internal state, i.e., the depth and activity of active buyers and sellers, in a variety of markets, such as double-auction markets. The invention does so by measuring certain averages and correlations of various indicators of market liquidity and producing useful market liquidity assessments and trader recommendations as a result. Various measures of market liquidity such as the bid-offer spread, the time to mid-market trade, spread fluctuations, deal rate, and bid and offer size are correlated, and monitored to assess a market's current internal state. From that information, the relationship between fluctuations in the bid price and the average number of buyers can be calculated to determine whether, for example, there is an excess of buyers or sellers in the market. Accordingly, based upon such calculations, accurate trader recommendations may be produced.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 2000Date of Patent: June 28, 2005Inventors: David A. Eliezer, Ian I. Kogan
