Abstract: Disclosed herein is a novel feature of a toilet for reducing the density of the fluid in the bottom portion of a bathroom fixture to eliminate spray when desired. When not desired, for example, when a user is seated upon the bathroom fixture, this feature may be deactivated. In one form, when the anti-spray feature is turned off, the bubbles will have substantially disappeared in less than a few seconds. The bathroom fixture (toilet) is provided with an air source, such as an air pump, compressed air cylinder, or compressor, coupled by way of an air line or hose to an air diffuser chamber. When the air source is activated, a substantial portion of the water in the air diffuser chamber will be displaced by the air provided by the air source. The vertical region of bubbles within the standing water reduces the density of the water in that region, such that splash is virtually eliminated.
Abstract: A towable farm and garden implement trailer which has a modular receiver. The modular receiver is operatively configured to receive implements above or below the frame of the trailer. Implements which may be removably coupled to the underside of the trailer include such implements as a lawn de-thatcher, transport box, box blade, drag harrow, slurry blade, etc. Examples of implements which could be carried and removably coupled to the top side of the trailer frame include such implements as a spreader, tank, carrying platform and other similar implements. In one form, the implement trailer comprises an actuator positioned between the frame and the wheels to allow the wheels to be raised and lowered with respect to the trailer frame.
Abstract: A shovel device having a base region and a transverse blade, the transverse blade having a longitudinally positioned forward blade edge that is operatively configured to cut the earth and trim a portion thereof. The shovel device is adapted to create an edge portion and further has a rearward wall so as to more easily allow the repositioning of removed earth from the edge region.
Abstract: A manhole lifting apparatus comprising a base support assembly and a lifting mechanism. There is a beam structure which extends over the manhole, with a pivot support at one end of the beam structure, and a mobile support at the opposite end of the beam structure. The lifting mechanism is at the central part of the beam structure. The lifting mechanism lifts the manhole cover, and the support assembly is rotated about the pivot support to remove the manhole cover from the manhole.
Abstract: A muzzle device configured to be attached to the muzzle region of a barrel. The muzzle device has a compensator region positioned longitudinally rearward from a flash suppression region. The muzzle device further is provided with adjacent compensator ports in communication by a longitudinally extending access vent.
Abstract: A parts washing apparatus comprising a basin having a drain, a reservoir located below the drain, and a solvent filtering and recirculating system. This system comprises a centrifuge filter assembly and a solvent recirculating system. The centrifuge filter assembly in turn comprises a centrifugal filter comprising a receptacle and a replaceable filter element, and also a turbine to drive the centrifugal filter. The centrifuge filter and the turbine are positioned in an enclosing structure to enclose the turbulent flow of the solvent from the centrifuge filter and also enclose the fumes associated with the turbulent flow. Thus, there is a discharge of solvent as less turbulent flow while substantially enclosing the associated fumes.
Abstract: A horizontally extending screen door system having balancing cords that pull in a direction that opposes the force on a handle by the screen exerted by the wind up mechanism of the screen.
Abstract: A method of creating a hydroponic growing medium. The method includes retrieving polyurethane constituents and mixing the polyurethane constituents in a shear spray mix, creating a resultant foam. Thereafter the resultant foam is placed in a form to cure and a forced heated air is convected in a post-processing step, whereby the hot air convected upon the resultant foam causes additional cracks throughout cell walls within the resultant foam. These fissure cracks allow for a wicking action to occur in the foam, making the material suitable for a hydroponic growing medium.
Abstract: Revealed herein is a system and method for monitoring continuity between adjacent barrier members. Each barrier member has a first edge defining a first connector and an opposed second edge defining a second connector. The second connector is adapted to cooperatingly engage a corresponding first connector of an adjacent barrier member. The system comprises detectable bodies along the first connector of the barrier member and a detector locatable along the second connector of the adjacent barrier member. The detector detects the proximity of the detectable bodies. The method comprises inserting a first barrier member into a soil formation, engaging the second connector of a second barrier member with the first connector and inserting the second barrier member into the soil formation adjacent to the first barrier member while utilizing the detector to verify engagement of the first and second connectors.
