  • Patent number: 5810259
Abstract: A liquid atomizing nozzle is provided which is designed to receive various types of impellers in a chamber just preceding an orifice for the purpose of fracturing the liquid such as water to thereby facilitate the generation of fine fogs or sprays. The interchange of impellers and cleaning of nozzle and impeller chamber is simplified by the provision of a separate detachable inlet member to the nozzle which is designed to also retain the impeller in its chamber and to supply a jet stream of liquid thereto. The inlet member is in the form of a separate connector provided with an entry segment of greater diameter then a narrower exit segment connectable to the impeller chamber in a manner which encloses the chamber and retains the position of the impeller.

  • Patent number: 5335909
Abstract: A wood head golf club is described in which the usual hosel is eliminated and provision is made for anchoring the graphite or other shaft within the club head within a rigid sleeve positioned therein, thus eliminating the objectional degree of rigidity imparted by the use of a hosel which extends beyond the clubhead. As a result a greater degree of flex and torque is obtainable from the shaft. The sleeve is preferably formed with an outwardly tapering shoulder which provides a space for cushioning material between shaft and shoulder.

  • Patent number: 5265288
Abstract: Emergency eyewash spray device designed to eject an upward spray to engage the eyes to an affected individual in response to an electronic sensing device which is positioned to be activated at a distance ahead of the device in order to automatically open an electrically controlled valve to cause water to flow through said spray means prior to the entry of an affected body within the sensing zone in order to accelerate emergency action. Provision is made for simultaneous activation of an alarm signal. The sensing device is positioned and designed to provide activation of the valve at a sufficient distance ahead of the spray means to ensure the availability of the spray to an affected individual who may be rushing to the device.

  • Patent number: 4955539
Abstract: This invention relates to a device and method for converting low continuous liquid flow to a high intermittent and pulsating flow. They are especially adapted for operating sprinklers, shower heads and venturi pumps at low flow. Applicant has accomplished these objectives by introducing liquid at a controlled low rate of flow such as by the use of pressure compensating drippers in a liquid supply line, thence into a chamber which is somewhat expansible in volume and increasing pressure therein while restricting the outflow of the liquid until pressure created by introduction of such liquid is sufficient to eject the liquid intermittently at a higher flow and over a greater area. This is achieved by utilizing a pressure responsive check valve in the liquid exit and more particularly by utilizing a check valve designed for quick response to create a water hammer effect.

  • Patent number: 4938420
Abstract: A device for irrigating plants comprises a container adapted to be mounted adjacent to each plant to be irrigated and to be filled at a low rate over a long period of time, for example around-the-clock. The container further includes a water discharge conduit having a loop portion at a pre-fixed height above the container bottom, the arrangement being such that when the water has accumulated within the container to substantially the top of the loop portion, there is produced automatically, and without the movement of any parts, a siphonic-flow-discharge of the water container at a high rate and over a short period of time.
