  • Patent number: 7089203
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method (“Bid System”) for topologically subdividing and defining the detail scope of work and for inter-linking construction plans and specifications to construction contracts and subcontracts. The Bid System permits full, clear and unambiguous definition of the scope of work under each subcontract, so as to eliminates errors and uncertainty relating to contract performance. The Bid System establishes a series of electronic overlays to the digitized construction plans corresponding to different trades or categories of work, in which each overlay may be divided into a series of optimized topological subdivisions or “boxes” which uniquely identify and locate on the plans a portion of the work to be performed. The system includes linkage of the overlays and boxes to the subcontracts whereby the scope of work to be bid is accurately associated or “mapped” to corresponding regions and overlay category on the architectural drawings or construction plans.

  • Patent number: 7048638
Abstract: Golf swing training device having constant resistive and rewind forces throughout the swings. An anchor positions a constant force unit, supplies a tether to a special contoured handle and is used indoor or out, preferably at a driving range or golf course. The CFU is preferably hung from a door top by a bracket or anchored to a free-standing pole. Kiosks may be located at driving ranges and golf courses for automated, coin or credit-card operation, or attendant operation, and may be linked to local or remote Internet-enabled computer control and monitoring centers. The use of constant force trains the body to learn perfect planar swing muscle memory by pulling the user into a fully-extended back swing position and to be lead side dominant in the down swing. A “perfect” club swing plane is developed with the force acting at or near the interlock by use of the special handles.

  • Patent number: 7011123
Abstract: A new or retrofit block hoist for conventional, hydraulic-powered log splitters assists in the lifting, maneuvering, and positioning of large diameter, heavy logs that require multiple radial splits to section them for firewood, comprising a boom, pulley and cable system. A boom assembly is secured to the top end of the splitter guide beam and pulleys guide a lifting cable anchored to the wedge slide to a log section retainer means (dog or awl). The upward, hydraulically-powered movement of the cutting wedge along the I-beam lifts the log section as the wedge is raised into its upward, retracted position. Once lifted, the log is swung into position between the wedge and splitter foot plate. The wedge is then power extended (lowered), splitting the log. An optional turntable is securable to the footplate. The inventive block hoist can be provided as a kit.

  • Patent number: 6981377
Abstract: Recovery of electric power from low-grade waste heat/solar energy, comprising a closed-cycle charged refrigerant loop. Pressurized refrigerant fluid is pumped at ambient temperature through a heat exchanger connected to a waste heat/solar source to extract heat energy during conversion to a high pressure gas. Heated/pressurized refrigerant gas is inlet into an expander to power an output shaft during the expansion of the fluid to a cooled gas at approximately 0 psig. Cooled gaseous refrigerant is condensed to a liquid at low pressure and ambient temperature, and recycled under pressure to the heat exchanger. The expander is a reverse-plumbed gas compressor; the pressurized, hot refrigerant gas is inlet at what is ordinarily its outlet, and the normal inlet becomes the expander end. The refrigerant gas mass flow pressure/temperature drop spins the expander shaft for direct mechanical power take-off, or coupling to a synchronous or inductive generator to produce electricity.
