Abstract: A security cap (1) for selectively closing an open end (3) of a pipe (5). The security cap (1) includes inner and outer cap assemblies (7, 11), at least one latch (17), and a driving assembly (21). The outer cap assembly (11) is rotatable with respect to the inner cap assembly (7), and along with it, is intended to cover the open end (3) of the pipe (5). Each latch (17) is cooperable with the inner and outer cap assemblies (7, 11), and displacable with respect to the cap assemblies (7,11) so as to be operated between first and second configurations, wherein in the first configuration, each latch (17) is drawn away from an outer groove (19) of the open end (3) of the pipe (5) thereby enabling the security cap (1) to be removed from the open end (3) of the pipe (5), and wherein in the second configuration, each latch (17) is engaged with the outer groove (19) thereby preventing the security cap (1) from being removed from the open end (3) of the pipe (5).
Abstract: A device for securing a passageway comprising a barrier on a mounting member, the barrier being retained by magnetic attraction between the mounting member and the barrier, the mounting member being pivotably moveable between operative and inoperative positions.
Abstract: An optical system having a solid state light source, such as an LED of any spectrum, includes a lens that provides an output illumination pattern of uniform distribution over a remote and larger target. The lens does not have an axis of revolution. The lens has a generally non-circular outer shape in cross section and on top views, where the outer optical surfaces are angled one relative to another. The lens includes refractive and reflective active optical surfaces to split, direct and shape the incoming beam from the light source towards the target in the form of several angled beams of prescribed energies calculated as a function of the shape of the target and distance to the target. The lens has an inner primary and partially open optical cavity of a polygonal cross section facing the light source.
Abstract: The driven pulley (10) comprises a first sheave (12) and a second sheave (40) coaxially mounted around a main shaft. The first sheave (12) is fixed with reference to the main shaft while the other sheave (40) is allowed to slide and rotate with reference to the main shaft. The driven pulley (10) is designed with a roller mounting unit (74) facilitating the assembling or the replacement of the rollers (70).
Abstract: A finger protecting device for protecting at least one finger against chafing resulting from rubbing against the shaft when practicing a sport with the shaft, such as golfing. The device comprises a sleeve for the thumb. The sleeve has front and rear surfaces, the front surface being positioned before a digital area of the thumb for acting as a barrier between the thumb and the shaft. The sleeve has first and second opposite ends, the second end being open-ended for allowing the thumb to be inserted into the sleeve. The device comprises fastening means connected to the sleeve for selectively adjusting and fastening the sleeve onto the thumb. The device may comprise extension portions, as well as additional sleeves for other fingers of the hand, the other sleeves exposing the fingertips of the fingers to enable a better feel for the shaft.
