Abstract: A method of converting allergenic substances which may have medicinal value into a new, safe and effective non-toxic and novel product having utility as a homeopathic remedy. This invention contemplates converting toxic substances into useful medicaments by a process involving the mammary glands of animals.
Abstract: A method of preparing remedies for the treatment of bacterial and viral infections which involves introduction into the udder of an ungulate during lactation, a specific vaccine comprising bacterial and/or viral organisms in an inactive state, and the preparation of small dosages of the secretary fluid subsequently withdrawn during lactation from the ungulate thus treated.
Abstract: A hot and cold sensor discrimination unit having an insulated liquid-filled container with a temperature indicator and a metal probe with a temperature indicator for use in perception of temperature by a patient.
Abstract: A dynamic low profile splint to support an injured hand and allow movement of the fingers and assist extension of the fingers to overcome stiffness and immobility in the hand.
Abstract: An adjustable wrist splint custom fabricated to fit the forearm and hand of a patient with straps adjustable to fasten the wrist piece to the arm of a patient and pivotal connecting means pivotally connecting the wristpiece to the handpiece to allow universal pivotal movement between the two members. A modification of the device also provides a dynamic splint allowing universal pivoting movement of the joint responsive to actuating forces of the patient.
Abstract: A lock mechanism incorporating a coupling device through which rotation of a lock plug is transmitted to a bolt actuating shift, and which readily allows for interchangeability of key removable locking cores of different axial lengths in a door knob in any of a plurality of different positions of rotation of the lock plug.
Abstract: A positive deadbolt locking system having a spring-biased deadbolt normally biased toward a retracted unlocked position or selectively and alternatively toward an overcenter locked position. The deadbolt is selectively in the fully unlocked or fully locked position of the locking system.
Abstract: A combination lock system on a narrow stile door having selective operation through a drive mechanism including a slide for retraction of the latch bolt operated by the combination lock and a manual control or key operation of the latch bolt. The key operation provides an override of the combination lock operation.
Abstract: A hemi-arm sling for treatment to a shoulder subluxation and injuries involving the ligaments and tendons. The sling is adjustable to position the head of the humerus in the glenoid-fossa without restricting circulation of a flaccid arm.
Abstract: An orthosis device for treatment of congenital metatarsus comprising a shoe having articulated toe and heel portions and means for exerting yielding pressure on the toe portion tending to at all times draw the same laterally outwardly relative to the heel portion.
Abstract: This invention provides a new and useful food factor for use as a nutritional supplement for animals, which product comprises whey obtained from colostrum and milk as it comes from selected cows or other ungulates, and containing an active fraction having a molecular weight on the order of 1200 or less.
Abstract: A combination acoustical muffler and exhaust converter for use with internal combustion engines, comprising an elongated hollow cylinder adapted to be connected to a source of exhaust gas, screen means positioned at a plurality of longitudinally spaced locations within said cylinder for partitioning the cylinder into a plurality of chambers arranged in series flow relation with each other and with respect to the flow of exhaust gas through said cylinder, the screens having a silencing action on said exhaust gas, magnet means in one of said chambers for exerting a magnetic pressure on the gas passing therethrough to serve to separate ferrous particles from the exhaust gas stream, a packing material of mineral material, such as mineral wool, in another of said chambers for condensing moisture in said exhaust gas and for removing hydrocarbon therefrom, and a material such as a ceramic material of an extremely fine porous nature, in still another of said chambers for removing carbon monoxide from said exhaust gas
Abstract: The present invention relates to a rotary-reactive internal combustion engine in which the reactive powers of the exhaust gas add to the driving torque of the present engine. The classification of this engine: The kind of the fuel is a liquid fuel. One cycle consists of the three working periods. The ignition of the fuel realizes inside the two combustion chambers by the high-tension ignition. One cycle is corresponding to a 360.degree. turning angle of the shaft of the rotor. The method of the formation of the mixture is the external mixing or is the pump fuel-air mixture with a very high pressure feed. The constructional distinctness is the rotary engine. The method of the formation of the power is the reactive power. The process of the scavenging is through forced scavenging. The present engine will be able to create the power and will work with a high speed rotation. This engine system allows it to use both synthetic fuel and common gasoline.
Abstract: A leakproof soldered joint between overlying surfaces of two pieces of metal which are riveted together to bring areas of said surfaces into intimate contact with one another all around the holes through which the rivets pass, said joint being achieved by a method which, before the riveting operation, involves placement of thin washers of solder between said pieces of metal in register with aligning rivet holes therein, to establish a slight space between said pieces, and after the riveting operation, applying molten solder to all of the marginal edges of said overlying surfaces of the two pieces of metal so as to cause it to flow by capillary action between the entire areas of said overlying surfaces, and utilizing the heat of the molten solder to melt said washers and thereby cause molten solder therefrom to flow into any and all interstices between the rivets and the edges of the holes through which they pass.
Abstract: A chuck for a tubular key blank is mounted on one end of a plunger which is reciprocatable towards and away from an end mill, and which is also rotatable between a plurality of angularly-spaced positions. An original key is used to reciprocate the plunger so as to push the periphery of the blank into the end mill for distances corresponding to the lengths of notches on the original key, and to turn the plunger to selected angular positions corresponding to the angular disposition of the notches.

Abstract: A padlock comprising a body having a pair of parallel bores therein adapted to receive the legs of a shackle, and a shackle having a pair of parallel legs slidably received in said bores. A locking means is positioned within the padlock body to secure the shackle in the body when the legs are depressed into the bores. An interchangeable means, such as a standard cylinder lock, is provided for releasing the locking means and includes key-operated means operable by turning movement of a key to effect the release of the shackle from the locking means to allow one of the shackle legs to withdraw from the padlock body. The padlock body has an opening to receive the interchangeable means to permit positioning the interchangeable means within the padlock body. Detachable cover means adapted to close the opening is provided. Fastener means, such as a screw member, operable from within the body, is engageable in fastening relation with the cover means.
