Abstract: A temporary barrier to selectively block a traffic lane, a driveway or the access to an enclosed parking space which comprises a vertical post inserted into a ground imbedded receptacle. Within the post a flexible locking lever can be released through a pinhole which may be obstructed by means of a padlock thus preventing the removal of the post.

Abstract: Disclosed are an aerial agrichemical spraying process and apparatus for producing and applying a multifluid invert emulsion. The apparatus, which is combined with an aircraft, comprises automatically balanced concentric tanks; multifluid valves combining individual preset metering control for each fluid with common, automatic, and simultaneous on/off control for all fluids; a single low-speed pump; a rotary twisted blade in-line mixer; a boom fitted with a number of spray nozzles; feeding and linking conduits; and an electrical control system.

Abstract: A hand tool used in the stringing of a tennis racket, for holding the tension of a string by attaching it to an adjacent string, which features a spacer held between two clamping members forming two parallel pinching jaws capable of pinching two adjacent strings in one clamping action.

Abstract: In a typical phase-locked loop oscillator circuit including a voltage controlled oscillator and a reference frequency source, from each of which a signal is derived and the phases of these two signals are compared in a phase detector, the output of which is applied through a loop filter to a frequency modulation input of the voltage controlled oscillator, so that the frequency of the voltage controlled oscillator is precisely controlled by the reference frequency; an improvement which comprises a maximum phase error detector which determines a maximum permitted phase error between the two inputs to the phase detector, and a phase error corrector circuit which, in response to the presence of a maximum permitted phase error, will shift the phase of one of the two signals applied to the phase detector relative to the source of that signal, such as to hold the phase error into the phase detector within the permitted maximum.

Abstract: A shopping cart shelf assembly dimensioned and adapted for attachment to a conventional shopping cart resulting in a horizontally oriented elongated surface in vicinity of the cart push handle which can be utilized for checking off a grocery list or writing checks thereon while standing in a checkout line. The shelf mounting assembly is coupled to the shelf and the cart in a manner for adapting to a standard type of shopping cart.

Abstract: A lift device particularly suitable for lifting handicapped persons with or without wheel chairs into a vehicle or building. The lift can be incorporated into the doorway of any given vehicle, or into any step structure within a building. The lift in its stowed position forms the normal steps. The various step elements are moveable and can cooperate to form a platform which can be lowered or raised to any position between the upper and lower level of the steps. A ramp normally hidden under the steps slides forward to allow easy access to the extended platform and a safety flap housed in the ramp flips upward to form an angle stop preventing the wheel chair from rolling backward during platform motion.

Abstract: A cigarette extinguishing and cigar cutting device mounted in the center of an ashtray which comprises a static base having a tapered top, a depressible stamper resiliently held above said base. Cigarettes may be snuffed out between the base and the depressed stamper. The cigar cutting portion of the device is constituted by a horizontal hole cut through a section of the base intercepted by a vertical slot in which travels a blade fastened to the stamper.

Abstract: A garment hanging device designed to hold a pair of pants or a skirt, formed from two gripping sections clamped together by a locking lever and hinged around an axial support. The axial support can be provided in a variety of configurations allowing the garment to be either pulled out of its rack enclosure for examination, or removed from the hanger without disconnecting the device from its mounting place or supporting rod.
