Abstract: A sensor element especially adapted for use in borehole resistivity logging, having an outside surface comprising conductive portions and insulating portions distributed in a determined pattern, said conductive and insulating portions being made respectively of a material that is hard and electrically conductive and of a material that is hard and electrically insulating, each of said materials being deposited in the form of a layer.
