  • Patent number: 4779831
Abstract: A holder for beverage containers adapted to be secured in front of an automobile dashboard air conditioning vent consisting of means to hold the beverage container having a circular split ring to receive the beverage container and a base member operably attached to the annular ring to support the beverage container bottom. Cooled air directing vanes attached to the circular split ring assist in directing cooled air from the automobile air conditioning vent to the sides of the container. Attached to the circular split ring is a vertically rising bifurcated shank member which in turn continues into a flexible handle. The underside of the flexible handle is covered with Velcro fastener material to engage a similar Velcro fastener material glued to the automobile dashboard immediately above the air conditioning vent.

  • Patent number: 4772131
Abstract: Improvements in electronic apparatus connected with operation of ultrasonic thermometers consisting of an initiating electrical pulse generator which permits selection of the repetition rate at which the ultrasonic thermometer is to be operated, and, to avoid electrical interference caused by power switching, selective commencement of the initiating electrical pulse relative to the power line. Electronic amplifying and transmitting circuitry receiving the reflected information signal pulses from the ultrasonic thermometer amplify the pulses for transmission to pulse processing circuits remotely located from the furnace, assuring that sufficient signal amplitude is received by means of a returned automatic gain control signal to the amplifying and transmitting circuitry.

  • Patent number: 4765325
Abstract: Method and apparatus for determining a face respirator fit for a particular respirator on a particular person wherein after first placing the respirator on the person's face, the air interiorly to the facepiece is partially evacuated while the subject holds his breath and clamps off his nostrils, the air which then leaks into the facepiece through leakage paths between the facepiece and the wearer's face is measured by a mass flow meter in line with a vacuum source which maintains a constant negative pressure interiorly to the facepiece, the test being accomplished over a relatively short period of time. The apparatus of the invention includes modifying the respirator by sealing off the normal inspiratory openings, i.e., the inhalation filters, and in their places having ports which connect to the mass flow meter and a pressure monitoring transducer.

  • Patent number: 4754486
Abstract: An improvement to motorcycle intercom communications between the motorcycle driver and passenger providing for stereo listening in each of both right and left helmet earphones wherein intercom communications may be had through microphones always activated located proximate the mouth of both driver and passenger where when initiating speaking over the microphone, the stereo output of one side of the earphones is reduced by approximately one/half while the stereo output of the other side earphones is terminated completely and the intercom conversation is heard in full over that single side of earphones. Upon the termination of the intercom conversation, the invention circuitry returns both sides of earphones to the pre-existing level of stereo output.

  • Patent number: 4746124
Abstract: An improvement to a golf club putter for aligning the putter head to the golf ball consisting of placing measured thickness protrusions consisting of parallel surfaces on both sides of the hosel of the putter head, the thickness of the protrusions such that when the golfer using the club first aligns himself to the cup and then visually sights along the protrusions to the lower edges of the putter faces, and no portion of the lower edges of the putter faces below the protrusions are visible on either side of the protrusions, the face of the putter head is correctly aligned with respect to the golfer in order to correctly strike the ball for a true travel to the cup. Further, by the added weight resulting from the inclusion of the protrusions to the hosel, the sweet spot of the golf club is thereby enlarged which has the effect of enlarging the area of the head whereby a solid hit is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4715070
Abstract: A flotation pool blanket for covering a swimming pool adapted to be gathered when removed, said flotation pool blanket defining a blanket covering the water of the pool having at spaced intervals, parallel ribs underlying the blanket, the ribs at each end rising up to form ears which overlap and engage the top of the pool decking surrounding and defining the pool. Further, the ears provide means by which the flotation pool blanket may be gathered up for removal by starting at one end, picking up the rib, proceeding to the next rib and repeating the step until all the ribs have been picked up at which time the blanket and the ribs carried to a position away from the pool. Emplacement of the invention pool blanket is just the opposite of removal, the operators dropping one end of the flotation pool blanket in the pool and then proceeding to let out a rib as they traverse the length of the pool.

  • Patent number: 4644715
Abstract: A soil excavating and utility pole securing sleeve is disclosed which will, when rotated around a standing utility pole, excavate an annulus of soil between the pole and the interior of the sleeve. The excavating sleeve defines an elongated hollow cylinder having teeth and inwardly bent excavating doors or flaps at one end which moves the soil between the utility pole and the sleeve out the door or flap and compacts the soil into the earth surrounding the sleeve. The sleeve is rotated into the ground around the utility pole for half its length, left there, and the evacuated annulus of soil then filled with a mixture of epoxy, resin, fungicide, and aggregate, allowed to cure and harden in order that the utility pole, the filling, and the sleeve become one single structure with a strength greater than that possessed by the original utility pole when new.
