The cylindrical housing and cylinder base are joined together by a bayonet connection and form a pressure chamber. The bayonet connection is designed pressure-tight, and it is located on the pressurized-side of a circular sealing element which seals off the cylinder base from the cylinder housing. The bayonet connection is thereby protected from the entry of detrimental environmental influences, especially dirt and moisture, and it can still be easily disassembled at all times.

    Abstract: A solenoid operated control valve for use as an inlet and/or exhaust valve in a pressure modulator has a flat valve element cooperating with a flat valve seat to control the flow of fluid through the valve. At least a portion of the solenoid armature has opposed parallel flat surfaces and is disposed within a gap defined between parallel faces for movement axially within the gap to operate the valve. The flat valve seat is disposed in the plane of one of the parallel faces and one of the parallel faces is a face of the stator. All required settings, more particularly, magnetic reach, the energized gap and excess valve travel to compensate for wear are set automatically by spacers. The spacers give the required settings directly from their own thickness and not through other component dimensions in combination.

    Abstract: A sealing device particularly suitable for sealing pistons of working cylinders and for sealing two machine components which can slide against one another is disclosed. A conventional sealing element consisting of low-friction, but not very elastic material, such as PTFE plastic material, and resting on an elastic support, is used. The cross-section of the sealing element in a direction of the sliding motion is U-shaped and encircles the support. The dimensions of the support and the sealing element are determined such that the support exerts prestress forces on the sealing element which try to bend the rim areas of the sealing element outward against the sliding surface for the sealing element. Consequently, an additional force component, directed toward the sliding surface, results for the pressure force which is exerted on the sealing element by the support and functions as a sealing force.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a pressure regulating valve which substantially avoids shutoff noises. The pressure regulating valve is designed such that the opening process of the shutoff valve proceeds in two steps. The two-step switching process is made possible by the provision of a seal ring which slides on an activating piston which activates the shutoff valve. This seal ring acts upon a housing mounted detent and an activating piston mounted additional detent, thus creating an automatically acting additional surface area for the activating piston. This design also makes it possible to increase the safety function of the pressure regulating valve, by increasing the pressure medium activated surface area of the valve body for the shutoff valve without incurring higher work forces at the activating piston.
