Abstract: A wire bundle or cable clamp primarily adapted for use in the aviation industry is disclosed. The clamp includes a flexible strap having a serrated portion and a strap receiving member to which the strap is removably mounted. A pawl including a serrated plate is pivotally mounted to the strap receiving member, and is biased to permanently but reversibly engage the serrations of the strap which is looped around an object such as a cable, wire bundle or the like.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an electric cigar lighter for use, for example in vehicles, having a circuit breaker. The circuit breaker includes an elongated fuse member having a fuse and a tube for covering the fuse. The tube has a melting point slightly lower than that of the fuse. Therefore, when the fuse melts and separates in two parts upon overheating of a heating element carried by an igniting of the lighter, the separated ends of the fuse are wrapped by the separated ends of the tube. Thus, even if the separated ends of the fuse member contact some portions of the lighter placed adjacent to the fuse member or other members, a short circuit can be prevented.
Abstract: An automatic air-fuel ratio control apparatus for use in a combustion system of a type in which combustion air is preheated, which is so arranged that a push rod depresses one end portion of a rocking lever in accordance with temperature of preheated combustion air and consequently the other end portion of the rocking lever depresses a valve member to correct pressure of working fluid for controlling a flow of fuel so as to obtain best air-fuel ratio, and further that a bearing member for pivotally supporting the rocking lever can be diagonally shifted to change the air-fuel ratio.
Abstract: An aerodynamic wind deflector for a scissors-type ski rack is disclosed. The wind deflector comprises a parabolic contoured deflector surface attached to a locking member having a T-shaped cross-sectional configuration which is clamped by a scissor clamp of the ski rack. The deflector may be inexpensively manufactured, reduces wind noise and improves the appearance of the ski rack.
Abstract: A toy having two portions mountable to one another in two relative configurations, is disclosed. In a first configuration the toy effectively simulates a person, toy character, figure, animal or the like in a substantially upright standing configuration. The toy has a pair of wheels mounted to a lower portion thereof. In a second configuration which is attained by pivoting the two portions relative to one another about an axis substantially normal to the general longitudinal axis of the toy, an additional wheel is exposed for contact with a support surface, and the toy simulates a toy vehicle capable of locomotion on the support surface. In the second configuration the toy also simulates a person, toy figure, character or the like disposed in a prone configuration on the support surface.
Abstract: A digital timing recovery circuit operative upon digital samples of the input signal to a data receiver provided at the sample rate to produce a clock correction signal at the symbol rate utilizing a digital periodic filter providing a double restrictive bandpass characteristic about the band edge frequencies and outputting to a nonlinear device followed by a digital sampling filter designed to require only addition and subtraction of the nonlinear device outputs.
Abstract: A cylindrical display for bus scheduling and the like including a number of semi-cylindrical plastic sections and suitable retaining means for securing the various sections into a unified whole.
Abstract: The present invention provides an optimum programmable camera that can be subjectively programmed to accomodate a user's personal demand. The user can enter in various combinations of F-values and exposure times for implementation under different lighting conditions. A graphic display can be provided on the back of the camera to facilitate the subjective programming and storage of program lines. Thus, the user is capable of completely and subjectively determining the operation of the camera to meet his own individual demands.
Abstract: Accurate alignment of mating electrical connectors on avionic racking equipment is provided by a first circular alignment projection and a second alignment projection toleranced along at least one line for mating with alignment apertures in the electrical connector.
Abstract: Disclosed is a lighting fixture which is primarily adapted for removable attachment to modular office furniture and for adjustable, substantially glare-free illumination of a work surface. The lighting fixture has a substantially elongated housing for a ballast, and a pair of holders for fluorescent tubes which are pivotably attached to a lower surface of the housing. A fastening device is attached to the housing which enables removable attachment of the lighting fixture to the underside of a shelf or the like, preferably without physically altering or changing the shelf. A channel shaped member having an upwardly open face is attached to and is disposed substantially along the entire length of the housing in order to unobtrusively accommodate at least a portion of a cable which connects the lighting fixture with an electric outlet. A user may adjust the positioning of each tube holder relative to the housing in order to obtain an optimal lighting effect on the work surface.
Abstract: A change-over position display device for use in a switch having a switch casing in which a movable contact is displaced to at least two positions through a pushing operation or a pulling operation of an operation knob. The device includes a plurality of change-over position display portions provided on the operating knob, an illuminating light source and a movable light guide for introducing illuminating light from the illuminating light source to any one of the plurality of the change-over position display portions in response to the pushing operation or the pulling operation of the operating knob.
Abstract: An inverted telephoto type wide angle lens system is provided. The lens system comprises an aperture stop, a first lens group located at the object side of the aperture stop, and a second lens group located at the image side of the aperture stop, the second lens group including at least two movable focusing lens groups, whereby the focusing is practiced by only the movement of the focusing lens groups with the remaining lens elements in the lens system stationary.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a smooth radius on an edge of a sheared metal sheet are disclosed. The apparatus includes a heating element, such as an oxy-acetylene torch, and a supporting frame incorporating means for translating said sheared edge in predetermined relationship with said heating element. The method encompasses the steps of causing relative translation between a heating element and the previously sheared edge of a metal sheet to accomplish the reduction of said edge to a smooth radius.
Abstract: A continuous heat-treating furnace comprises, a housing structure having an entrance and an exit defined at its opposite ends, respectively, and also having defined therein a preheating zone adjacent the entrance, a cooling zone adjacent the exit and a high temperature zone intermediate between the preheating and cooling zones, a recirculating duct fluid-connecting a portion of the housing structure in register with the preheating zone to another portion of the housing structure in register with the cooling zone, and a blower for forcibly drawing gas inside the preheating zone and directing it into the cooling zone through the recirculating duct.
